Just yesterday my blogging partner wrote a post entitled The awesomeness that is Allen West. I of course concur with that assessment of the freshman congressman from Florida. As most readers know the Colonel West left the army under less than perfect circumstances. While interrogating an Iraqi prisoner West fired his sidearm in close proximity to the man's head which apparently caused the prisoner to become quite talkative. Colonel West was not court-martialed but rather was given an article 15 hearing, fined $5,000 and retired with full benefits.
At a town hall someone questioned the Colonel about that incident. After defending his actions West turned the tables on his inquisitor.
"So if you guys want to go back and talk about what happened nine years ago for me, let’s talk about the president doing blow and smoking dope," West said.
Yes let's.
