Obama's Wet Dream Act

The Democrats are feeling pretty full of themselves tonight as a result of Obama's disregard of the Constitution he swore to uphold. It's too soon to hazard a guess as to how the legal, let alone the political consequences will unfold. The "prosecutorial discretion" which is supposedly the legal underpinning for the so called Dream Act Lite may not survive a legal challenge which would linger on long after the November election. I would suggest that Obama and the Democrats make the most of this of the weekend because looming on the near horizon are two Supreme Court decisions that may make the Wisconsin recall election seem like the good old days. Maybe as soon as Monday but certainly by the end of this month both Obamacare and Arizona SB1070 will be decided and for better or worse the media will all but forget the latest constitutional assault. The public, on the other hand, may not share in that lapse. If an issue is too controversial to to legislate in an election year putting it in place by executive fiat is a strange way to go about winning public support and approval. Other than abortion, no issue seems to evoke the outpouring of tears and rage as immigration and tomorrow Senators Brown, Casey and Stabenow will have to defend today's action to an increasingly restive electorate. Winning the Hispanic vote is not the same as winning the election. Like Obama's war on the Catholic Church this is one more issue that is going to go badly for down ballot Democrats. I seriously doubt if Obama cares if his decision survives the political and legal land mines. He has put points on the board and done his fair share. This is what desperation looks like! To La Raza it feels like the real thing but it's only a dream.
