Executive Privilege -- Fast and Furious (Update)

Here it is, Wednesday morning, and Eric Holder, US Attorney General and his Department of Justice, have been awarded Executive Privilege by Obama in matters concerning the Congressional investigation of said Mr. Holder and his department's sale of guns to Mexican drug cartels.

Coincidentally, this is also THE day that Mr. Holder is facing contempt of Congress charges.

The Executive Privilege maneuver is an attempt by the White House to prevent these contempt charges.  Executive Privilege deals with correspondence that Holder had with the Anointed One and the White House.  For eighteen months, Holder has denied any knowledge of Operation Fast and Furious and, therefore, the White House had no knowledge.  I guess this clears the air.  The White House did know and may have possibly directed the operation.

Whether this new development will stop Congress from seeking contempt charges remains to be seen.  Standby for further updates.

  1. Absolutely! If you didn't know anything about it, why all the secrecy? Why act like nothing's wrong if you need to keep folks from seeing it? And, hey, I thought there was no connection to anything so WHY hide it? What is there to hide?
