NiSource To Build Processing Plant in Harrison County

As the infrastructure of the Utica Shale oil field begins to take shape NiSource Midstream Services is planning a processing plant to separate the much more valuable oil that is expected to flow out of the shale along with the gas. The plant which is to be built in Harrison County will employ cryogenics to separate the oil and other liquids from the natural gas. NiSource plans a 90 mile pipeline through six eastern Ohio counties. The company has not released the estimated cost of the plant or the number of workers it will employ. The cryogenic processor will arrive in Harrison County this July and should be in service by the second quarter of 2013. Full development of the gathering system is not expected until the first quarter of 2014.
