Santorum Has Wide Lead in Louisiana
Interest seems to be waning in the GOP primary. Perhaps many have accepted the inevitability of Romney. Nationally Romney is leading but in the next primary state, Louisiana, Santorum is leading with 42 percent compared to Romney's 29 percent. Gingrich get 18 percent and Paul gets 8 percent. The latest PPP poll shows Santorum's entire lead in Louisiana is coming with the conservative side of the Republican Party. He leads Romney 50-23 with 'very conservative' voters, 44-22 with Tea Partiers, and 51-23 with Evangelicals. Santorum also appears to have the late momentum on his side. Among those who've decided who to vote for in the last few days he's at 47% to just 25% for Romney. For a change Santorum is getting the Catholic vote by a 40 to 35 percent margin.
