While we focused on the Santorum-Romney match up with an eyes toward the Kaptur-Kucinich race, Dr. Brad Wenstrup quietly took out Congresswoman Jean Schmidt of Ohio's second congressional district in a contest below our radar. Wenstrup's has never held elective office but did run unsuccessfully for mayor of Cincinnati. Running as a conservative with Tea Party support hit he Schmidt hard for her vote to raise the debt limit ceiling.
Wenstrup is a medical doctor, a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army reserve, and an Iraq war veteran.
