Our regular readers know we don't harbor much affection for DOE subsidized green autos. The Chevy Volt catches fire and costs $30,000 more than it's worth. The Fisker Karma is made in Finland, sells for over a 100 grand and according to Consumer Reports doesn't run.

ReplyDeleteso it makes you wonder, are companies just putting out GREEN CARS not because they work ...but because the government is sooooo wonderful it will bail you out for trying... I have been a GM family discount buyer or leaser for over 15 years... was given a Volt to test drive over a weekend with tons of incentives to purchase or lease... the car would not take a charge from my garage ... honked and told me so... so never got a chance to see how it would be such a savings... but wasn't quite as stupid as president Obama saying how nice it was to sit in it, IT IS A CAR....and it is supposed to go somewhere. No wonder the secret service wouldn't let him drive it....Me I'm not the president, just a stupid consumer that just turned in 2 GM cars... have 2 Toyota Prius in my driveway now... can't remember my last time I needed to fill up in the last 2 weeks? all this without government assistance.... I wonder if Toyota has thought about going into the postal service business? Nope, they probably don't have any vehicles that could handle that.
