Obama, bored to death, bores Martin Peretz

You may have heard that Obama knows more about Judaism than any other president ever...and that he has many Jewish friends. From Haaretz:
"Rather than describe how deeply I care about Israel, I want to be blunt about how we got here," Obama said, reminding his guests that he had so many Jewish friends in Chicago  at the beginning of his political career that he was accused of  being a puppet of the Israel lobby. [SNIP]
Obama also stressed he probably knows about Judaism more than any other president, because he read about it - and wondered how come no one asks Speaker of the House of Representatives John Boehner or Senate minority leader Mitch McConnel about their support to Israel.
Though many most Jews endorse the candidacy of the president who knows more about Judaism than any other president, not all Jews are so enamored.
Martin Peretz, founder of The New Republic and former fan of Obama, has publicly denounced Obama's policies, particularly with regard to Israel. The WSJ:
"We're now in a new era," Mr. Peretz warns. "I think that Obama is a child, or maybe let's say a grandchild, of the New Left, with casual moral judgments made about very intricate ethical alternatives." Later he thunders: "Leading by following—it's really a sick phrase."
The article at the WSJ describes Peretz's break with Obama as "painful." Of course, Peretz is only one independent thinker and there are many more Jews, such as former NYC mayor Ed Koch who, for some unknown reason, still support Obama's destructive policies.
  Obama,
who believed that Nazi death camps were Polish death camps and
who claims that when he tries something that doesn't work he doesn't do it again and
who thinks that we're the ones we "built the intercontinental railroad"and
who thinks "Austrian" is a language and
who thinks a "corpsman" is a "corpseman"  and
who thought the Memorial Day fallen were present at his event....
THAT Obama also believes, in addition to being the most knowledgeable of Judaism ever, that he knows more about policies and speech writing and virtually any job around him, as reported by Jodi Kantor via National Review:
“I think I could probably do every job on the campaign better than the people I’ll hire to do it,” he said. “It’s hard to give up control when that’s all I’ve known.” Obama said nearly the same thing to Patrick Gaspard, whom he hired to be the campaign’s political director. “I think I’m a better speechwriter than my speechwriters,” Obama told him. “I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors. And I’ll tell you right now that I’m gonna think I’m a better political director than my political director.”
And, remember (perhaps Martin Peretz didn't know this) that Obama is so bright he's been bored his whole life. In fact, he can't do what ordinary people do because he's so talented. Politico:
In author David Remnick’s Obama biography, “The Bridge,” he quotes White House adviser and longtime friend Valerie Jarrett: “I think Barack knew that he had God-given talents that were extraordinary. He knows exactly how smart he is. ... He knows how perceptive he is. He knows what a good reader of people he is. And he knows that he has the ability — the extraordinary, uncanny ability — to take a thousand different perspectives, digest them and make sense out of them, and I think that he has never really been challenged intellectually. ... So, what I sensed in him was not just a restless spirit but somebody with such extraordinary talents that had to be really taxed in order for him to be happy. ... He’s been bored to death his whole life. He’s just too talented to do what ordinary people do.”
You may not be convinced of this, considering what an unbelievable mess the Obama presidency has been, what with a hundred golf outings, hundreds of fundraisers, hundreds of parties, gaffes, not to mention high unemployment rates and free handouts that have benefited Obama cronies..
You may not be convinced just how really, really smart Obama is because you might be thinking along the lines of Martin Peretz that Obama's a child in big pants.
You must admit one thing he's done that's really, really clever.
He's surrounded himself with people like Valerie Jarrett, which means he'll never ever ever have to face reality.
Oh, please, let November 7 change all that.

  1. I wonder if he wrote his Roanoke speech. I think most of us could write better than he or his writers. He doesn't have a Peggy Noonan or a Pat Buchanan and his only memorable words are gaffs or invective. I am much looking forward to his concession speech and I don't expect much grace.

  2. I thought it was interesting that an immature 27 year old wrote Obama's inauguration speech, Jon Favreau.

He's also the one who posted on Facebook the pic of himself groping a cardboard Hillary Clinton's breast (I shudder) and giving her a beer.

This dignified act took place right after Obama defeated her in the election.

Classy bunch whose core values run deep, mirroring the speechwriting.
