Erskine Bowles was the White House Chief of Staff under President Bill Clinton. In 2010 he co-chaired Obama's debt commission with former Senator Alan Simpson. Paul Ryan also served on the same commission. The commission report was ignored by Obama who apparently wanted to drive the country deeper into debt. The video clip originated at the University of North Carolina where Bowles was president emeritus. Bowles describes Ryan's budget as sensible, serious, straight forward, and honest.
