Pain and AKIN heartache seem to follow him

All the scandal today has been some joker named Akin's remark, something about women's bodies rejected pregnancy after a "legitimate rape."
Now, I don't know what Mr. Akin was talking about, although some callers to talk shows today explained that this was (convoluted) reasoning that some of the pro-life community had/have been using and it also had been taught in nursing schools a while back.
Most party leaders, including Romney, have called on Akin to resign his Senate campaign against the execrable Claire MaCaskill of Missouri, who is extremely beatable.
Akin's rationale for staying in the race is that Democrats do this all the time: find an issue, a bumble or gaffe and beat Republicans over the head with it (Makaka, anyone?) until no one can stand the issue or the candidate anymore.
This IS what they do, while they let their own candidates have sex with 16 year olds in rest stops and mumble something like, heck, how'd anybody find out about that? Their guys get away with theft, lies, distortions and all kinds of graft, but if any Republican has a whiff of scandal, the Republican party denounces them to appease the yapping jackals of the Left.
  This is true.
But this race is simply too important to jack around.
This race could mean control of the Senate.
This race could mean repealing Obamacare.
This race could simply mean ridding the nation of numerous regulations, onerous taxes and a myriad of dastardly executive orders that bind the liberties of the citizens of this country.
It's too important for one man's ambitions.
I have to say the guy looks like somewhat of a dud.
This is how Mr. Akin apologized for his remark: Rape is an evil act. I used the wrong words in the wrong way and for that I apologize. ... I have a compassionate heart for the victims of sexual assault. I pray for them.”
Personally I don't care about his heart.
I don't even care if he prays for victims of sexual assault.
He just needs to boot himself out of the argument.
If this were Herman Cain's situation, well, that's something else. There's always some aggrieved individual who can complain about, I dunno, say being fired from a company Romney owned.
This is different. The guy's a cheeseball, no matter how conservative his positions, and he won't last in the  national political arena very long, even if he IS elected to the Senate.
  Face it.
He's got Christine O'Donnell written all over him.
Or should I say Joe Biden.
It looks like Todd Akin just never can say goodbye.
