Fire a Bureaucrat and Save a Farmer

It's no secret that the Washington elite think of themselves as well informed, forward looking, just one notch below genius clever. Now just as the Dept. of Transportation is considering forcing operators of farm tractors to get a commercial driver license as if they were driving coast to coast instead tooling around in the back forty, comes automated planting and automated harvesting. Using GPS navigation and onboard computing, the system plots the most efficient pattern to plow and plant the field. What this should demonstrate to even the most thick headed bureaucrat is the process is so simple even a machine can do it. Under the proposed scheme of things these farmers would be required to keep logs to make sure they didn't fall asleep. Of course this is a blatant power grab since failure to keep a log could result is a suspension of the license. Never mind grain farmers only use a tractor a few weeks per year during; during planting in the spring and harvest in the fall. The first video shows the GPS guided tractor planting. The second has two machines working together, a combine and a grain trailer.
