As we said, it's the optics

You reach a point where you're just shouting in the wind, I guess, or screaming out the car window.
When a group of people is so insular that they cannot see that they are doing exactly what they are telling others NOT to do, it becomes a hopeless cause to try to convince them otherwise and simply becomes yammering.
Hot Air has another rundown of the optics of this administration. Clueless is a word being bandied about repeatedly.
You preach to America to go to the Gulf for vacation to rebuild if the disaster you helped create, you spend a few hours there and then you jet off to Martha's Vineyard.
You preach about jobs but you buy 2 1.1$ million buses from Canada.
You tell everyone to sacrifice and then you charge the American taxpayer millions and millions and millions of dollars for your wife to go on vacation and for yourself to go on vacation.
  Hot Air:
Next, there’s the problem of going on a jobs tour without a jobs plan.  Obama has been in office for over 30 months, and the last explicit effort he put forward on jobs was Porkulus in Month 2.  Obama’s telling voters that he will come up with a plan down the road, when he should have had the plan in hand before stumping for it onthe road.  Not only that, but according to CBS’ Mark Knoller, the new plan is going to sound a lot like the same old plan Obama has for everything:
You mock rich people, complain about them repeatedly, excoriate them, and then you go hobnob with them, begging for their millions to run your campaign and vacationing among them, not us.
You go on a "listening" tour and then you don't listen, instead telling the taxpayers that "you aren't listening" and "don't believe what you hear" even though "what you hear" has been all over the news. Does he not listen?
You complain that others criticize you, but you repeatedly and without mercy mock and criticize others, showing your thin skin every day.
Hey, if you're that offended when people criticize you, you really ought to get out of politics.
  Please.
As we said, sir, with deep sighs.
  It's the optics.
  Really.
