Giuliani Endorses Turner in NY 9th Race

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has endorsed Republican Bob Turner in the special election to replace twitter flashing Congressman Anthony Weiner. Former Mayor Ed Koch, a Democrat has already endorsed Turner. The ninth congressional district of New York is spread over parts of Brooklyn and Queens. In the past it has been represented by the late Geraldine Ferraro and Senator Chuck Schumer. It has not elected a Republican since 1921 nevertheless the polls show the election to be a toss up. In many ways the Democratic party's future among Jewish voters is on the line. The district has a large Orthodox Jewish population that is not the least bit enamored with Obama's maltreatment of Israel. While the Democratic candidate has tried to guide the debate to jobs-God knows why considering Obama's record-and indulged in Mediscare demagoguery Turner has hit hard on the hot button issues such as the ground zero mosque and the lack of support for Israel in the Democratic party.
