Six examples of Leftist failure

Well, it's the new year and I have avoided blogging for over a week.
Taking a little break because it gets tiresome watching the loons.
Plus, people like me, we're sort of fatalistic.
People like me tend to magnify the bad into terrible and permanent, despairing at every turn over the machinations of a corrupt Jabba the Hutt bureaucracy that cares little for anything other than maintaining its own monstrous obesity.
Like Eeyore in Winnie the Pooh, people like me are sure that, once one thing is fixed, another will go wrong, perhaps worse than originally, probably leading to the end of the world:
Christopher Robin - There now. Did I correctly fix your tail, Eeyore?
Eeyore - It doesn’t matter. I will most likely lose it again anyway.
What's been most depressing has been the reaction of the American people to the abominable presidency of Barack Hussein Obama.
Where are the millions, other than Tea Partiers? What are they doing? Are they content to just lie supinely and wait for the next freedom snatching horror?
Well, now that I've used the word supinely, I'm transported back in time not to Winnie the Pooh, but to Patrick Henry's attempt to stir the people to act against an ever encroaching British government, now our friends (or at least they were before the speech iPod, the return of Churchill's bust, the Snowden revelations).
Henry set forth logical arguments for independence; he anticipated every argument offered by the opposition and dealt with it in this fiery speech recorded only by the memory of those who were there. His words resonate today:
They tell us, sir, that we are weak; unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger? Will it be the next week, or the next year? Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a British guard shall be stationed in every house? Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction?
Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance, by lying supinely on our backs, and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?
(Of course, all religious folk believe God is fighting "with" them; what God "thinks" is an entirely different matter.)
If we look at current events, it is clear that the progressive movement is exploding, splashing all of us with its detritus, like a toddler vomiting from too many cookies or bursting loose bowels through his diaper.

  1.  Obviously Obamacare is the primary example; I wont' detail it because anyone who has a life knows already that the thing is an albatross to be hung around the necks of the idiots who voted it in.
It is inconceivable to most--well, many--Americans that politicians could be so arrogant, so solipsistic as to create laws for political gain under which they will not live but which will negatively impact the lives of everyone else for years to come.
The Obamacare website is the precursor; here come all the rules and regulations this year, if the deceitful Obama does not put them off until after the fall elections.
Indeed, the horrendous bill itself is like a selfish child's Christmas wish list being revealed: "I want this and this and this and THAT TOO!!!! I want it all!!! Haha! And I get THAT too!! and then I'll put ACORN in charge of giving this and this and THIS to our friends!"

  2.  Did you know Michelle O's signature legislation strangling school lunch menus for school children has been "permanently relaxed"
Of course, it was all impractical and actually unhealthy, but that didn't matter to the First Lady who pretends to be a gardener but who has had her own chef and personal trainer for many many years which is probably why her derriere isn't bigger shapelier than it already is.
  Kaboom. Gone.

  3.  Most laughably, we learn that the Global Warming Climate Change advocates are having a rough go of it these days.  On an expedition to prove that global warming climate change is real, the experts advocates got stuck in summer ice so solidly their ship could not move for days.
The ice is melting, their leader insists, even though 98% of MSM did not report that the global warmists scientists were on a mission to prove it.
Even the rescue ship is stuck in the ice.
No, the increased summer ice proves climate change is real! The NoTricksZone explains:
Now we see Turney is blaming his vessel getting stuck on climate warming. It couldn’t possibly get more desperate than that, nor more embarrassing for the institution of academics. I wonder if he intends to sue the fossil fuel industry for the millions in damages incurred by the expedition so far.
In reaction to the NZZ article, a vast majority of readers leaving comment are responding with outrage. Climate science crazy train has gone off the rails.
The climate science crazy train has gotten so bizarre that they don't even want to argue about it because it's just too hard and thus Reddit was forced to ban "climate change deniers" from even posting arguments on their "science" forums. In fact, the editor maintains that--because it's a "contentious" issue--disagreements must be banned.
Now that's real science for ya!
It's hard to deny that the whole global warming thing is on the verge of hitting Titanic ice, especially since it has been revealed that Al Gore has had to dump 90% of the staff for his Alliance for Climate Protection, presumably because he's already made his billions and is moving on to another carnie venture to milk the gullible.

  4. Now, you may think the whole Duck Dynasty thing was an insignificant kerfuffle with which you didn't even agree.
Let's be honest. It's not like Duck Dynasty is the greatest show on earth. It's kind of stagey, pretty predictable and somewhat forced.
So why did so many Americans rise up in anger when the acerbic Phil Robertson paraphrased biblical quotations?
People are tired of the politically correct bullying that has become part of the media/activists/government's interaction with ordinary people.
Heck, even some entertainers came out of the closet to defend free speech on that one.
Others are revealing exactly who they are: hating bigots who have little room in their minds for anyone except those who think exactly as they do.
Leftist speech (often under the guise of an internet pseudonym but not always) has become positively despicable and horrifying. Yes, the culture itself has become coarse, but Leftists are especially prone to abuse of the innocent.
The Left is filled with magisterial, grandiose self-described Cassandras such as the NYT writer who actually wrote a column to announce to the world that he's decided to drop his middle initial from his byline because it's become too "ostentatious," too "priggish," too formal and a "bit of a barrier" from the unwashed masses who won't be able to identify with a Harvard trained journalist.
(Invective.) Can they get any more ostentatious than that?
Conformists, one and all, and they've worn out their welcome from us sweaty rednecks.
Whatever happened to divergence? Diversity of thought?

  5. You may fool some of the people about this economy, but after five years, Obama won't be able to fool everyone all the time.
Anyone looking for a good job these days gets suspicious, particularly if you do your homework and realize "we’ve added 13 million more Americans are in the country and we have 1.3 million fewer jobs," then you know you'll never make enough to pay off your student loans in this economy, much live the kind of life your parents lived.
Even Barbara Walters (for whom Phil Robertson would not interview) has, after over 2000 days, has suddenly realized Obama is not the Messiah
  Whew. What a relief.
These people are really, really bright, eh.

  6. Even the Leftists at The Atlantic realize that they haven't beaten the Tea Party because the Tea Party Isn't Going Anywhere, reasons enumerated here, not the least of which is that it's a movement among the people, not really an organization.
Add into the equation even Democrats' disgust with Obama's insufferable snooping into our private lives, and you have a tempest in a TEA pot, even on the South Side of Chicago.
Whether anticipated by Justice Roberts' decision to pass through Obamacare or not, the whole mess of government is the problem wackadoodle Leftists have right now. They're running the country into the ground and it's becoming increasingly difficult for even the Kool Aid drinkers to deny it. Then there's the Petri dish of New York City whose new mayor has a "vision of the possibilities of an unfettered leftist government" and whose first decree to ban carriage rides will lead to the slaughter of the city's hundreds of horses with an eye to making some cash on the abandoned stables.

We Tea Partiers don't have much of a voice in the MSM which is increasingly beclowning themselves; we don't have tv stations and newspapers or talking heads who DON'T conclude that we're vile racist haters.
We do have an increasingly influential alternative media of blogs, Breitbart, The Blaze and, of course, the fair and balanced Fox which speaks right editorially.

What we do have is a love for this country and a desire to leave to our children--children of all colors and sizes--a nation at the very least as stable and productive as it was when we were their age.
This first post of 2014 concludes with another Winnie the Pooh quote, one that certainly refers to the moms and pops and grandmoms and grandpops out there who want the best but fear that they do not have the power to change the course of history themselves.
Christopher Robin - If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together, there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart, I'll always be with you.
And the immortal words of Patrick Henry, who believed that God is the one who gives the powers of discernment and strength to overcome oppressors:
Sir, we are not weak if we make a proper use of those means which the God of nature hath placed in our power. Three millions of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us. Besides, sir, we shall not fight our battles alone.
No, we're not fighting this battle alone; Leftists are helping to fight it for us, ruining their reputations themselves, making more and more rules they exempt themselves from, stealing from one to give to another, creating more and more victims to the point at which everyone is a victim.
  Who's left if everyone's a victim?
Youse guys are unreal. Keep it up.
