Remember back a month or so when the media and the Democrats announced that Tea Party had irreparably damaged the Republican brand? Look now at the recent Real Clear Politics average of the generic congressional vote. The healthy Democratic lead has disappeared and the Republicans hold a slight edge. When the shutdown ended the Republicans began to recover in the polls. In other words they could control their destiny. Presently the Democrats cannot. They are inextricably tied to Obamacare with all its faults. There is no OFF button or to get closer to Max Baucus' train wreck analogy, no air brakes.
