Two polls give Joni Ernst a small lead in the Iowa senate race. Prior to the Iowa primary in which Ernst showed considerable clout when she captured 50% of the vote in a field of five candidates she did not lead in a single poll against Congressman Bruce Braley. Rasmussen, in a poll of 750 likely voters, gives Ernst a 45% to 44% edge over the Democratic candidate . The Loras College poll is somewhat more kinder to Ernst. It give her a lead of 6, 48 to 42 percent.
Polls taken this far out have a pretty limited predictive value but Ernst is certainly trending in the right direction.
