Breaking! Senator Kerry, Not Jim Leher, Lost Obama's Debate

It could be that Jim Leher did not lose the debate for Obama after all. Obama campaign operatives have been digging through the forensics and, son-of-a-bitch, evidence is pointing to Senator John Kerry. Kerry was Obama's sparring partner and now we hear he pulled his punches out of deference to the commander-in-chief. Bill Plante of CBS news has the latest on this episode of pin the blame on anyone but Obama.

Bill Plante: "Well Norah, they're simply upset and really outraged.  They blame the President's team, first of all, for not preparing him to meet the challenge of an aggressive Mitt Romney.  They say that nobody in the room challenged him, including the guy that he was debating with, John Kerry, because, as they say, he wants to be Secretary of State so he's not going to get in the President's face. And Presidents are used to deference; they're not used to people challenging them like that.  So they think that the debate prep was terrible, but they also fault the President himself for not understanding that Romney was going to be more aggressive."

I suppose if these charges stick Kerry will go down in history as having lost two campaigns.

  1. Huh. I seem to recall a Drudge headline with a picture of The Prince that read "It's a drag."

One got the impression The Prince is bored with his job.

    Which is fundraising, of course.

    Isn't it?

    1. Boredom has become one of the excuses for his poor debate but they don't tell us why would want to elect someone who isn't enthusistic about the job.
