More Carping on the Lugar Moudock Poll

The Fort Wayne Journal Gazette has put its spin on the latest poll showing Lugar beating Mourdock. They sense vulnerability on Lugar's part. Without adding to the polemic on the candidates let me just state that the fact that Dick Lugar does not poll 50 percent is very small comfort to anyone down 21 points. Even if the undecided broke twenty to one for Mourdock, a very unlikely happenstance, he still loses 50 to 48 percent. Mourdock's 17 percent favorability rating could hardly be worse. It means that just a little more than 1 in 6 Hoosiers like him. Go win an election with those numbers!
