Here we go again! How will they explain this to Al Gore? How will Al Gore explain this to us. A new zip file containing 5000 emails has been released and some of the published excerpts are dynamite. Here's an email from hockey stick creator Michael Mann:

Phil,I would not respond to this. They will misrepresent and take out of context anything you give them. This is a set up. They will certainly publish this, and will ignore any evidence to the contrary that you provide. s They are going after Wei-Chyung because he’s U.S. and there is a higher threshold for establishing libel. Nonetheless, he should consider filing a defamation lawsuit, perhaps you too.
I have been talking w/ folks in the states about finding an investigative journalist to investigate and expose McIntyre, and his thusfar unexplored connections with fossil fuel interests.Perhaps the same needs to be done w/ this Keenan guy.
I believe that the only way to stop these people is by exposing them and discrediting them….
Note: Steve McIntyre is a retired geologist who did once work for oil companies. His site is very technical as you will see. McIntyre's forte is statistics. He was the first skeptic who questioned Mann's statistical methodology and the National Academy of Science agreed with him. Here are some additional snippets:

“we’re getting very steep warming” and that because “we are dumping enough carbon dioxide into the atmosphere that we’re working in a dangerous realm, I realm where I think, we may really have trouble in the next coming decades.”
Richard Muller considered well known in his own right woking at the University of California, Berkeley and Lawrence National Lab, was hired by the Koch Brothers to disprove mainstreem scientists wrong on climate change:
“The skeptics raised valid points and everybody should have been a skeptic two years ago,” Muller said in a telephone interview. “And now we have confidence that the temperature rise that had previously been reported had been done without bias.”

You people just can't get over the Koch brothers. They fund the Tea Party, they fund global warming skeptics, they fund studies that point out the failings of wind farms and then just for good measure they run ads against Solyndra as if Solyndra just has a PR problem. Did the Koch brothers fund Jeramiah Wright too?
