Arguing over Byrd vacancy

Of course, if roles were reversed, the ink would be dry already. Since dems don't want this seat to go to the voters in November, hanky panky ensues. We'll see. Both the secretary of state and governor of West Virginia are dems. The LAW says that vacancy will be filled in November through election. The dems want it to be put off until 2013. Ace:

He says this means the limitation of two years, six months applies to the length of service of the appointed replacement, and thus state law okays it if the Governor waits a week (or, presumably, a month, or two months, or a half a year, or a year).
