Colorado is in the throes of decision making about whether to take firearms away from law abiding persons so their Democrat legislators have been busy proposing hideous bills, listening to testimony of rape victims and handing out very sage advice on how to prevent being raped without needing a firearm.
Y'all'll be glad to know that crooks with criminals records are now proposing laws to take away all firearms.
Needless to say, this particular crook is a Democrat. Her mug shot was posted online, along with Red State's rundown on her record for trying snatchweapons.
Ms. Fields has put on a few pounds since her mug shot though you can see her dramatic press photos here now, surrounded by adoring admirers of all colors. You know, the usual victims, hooligans and aggrieved. Her url reads: Rhonda Fields: Justice, Fairness and Community.
Presumably that means her theft will now be governmentally sponsored--labeled justice and fairness--rather than, say, shoplifting in a common department store and larceny. Well, now her larceny is on a larger scale, wouldn't you say.
The Denver Post has more information on other criminals who run the state.
What is even more shocking are the ridiculous comments made by old Rhonda's compatriot Senator Evie Hudak, who condescendingly informed a rape victim who had been 50 feet from a "safe zone" and had left her CCW in the car as required by law that the victim really wasn't responsible enough to carry a firearm, and that she would probably have lost it to her rapist anyway.
"Statistics" aren't on your side, Ms. Hudak explained to the rape victim while she cruised her computer screen, because the rapist would probably have used your weapon against you. How Ms. Hudak deduced this is unknown, other than she produced some study that cleverly verified her contention.
If you haven't seen the unbelievably arrogant and heartless comment, (you know, like you've been in Florida or something) here's the video:
What's so ridiculous is that Ms. Collins's attacker already had a gun which he could have used if he wanted to so why Ms. Collins having a weapon to blow a hole in his chest to stop him is unexplained by Ms. Hudak, who again looks mysteriously better in her press photo than in reality.
But dumb Colorado Democrats are not limited to females; let's be fair!
Colorado Democrat Joe Salazar has already said this to the rape victim (Investor's Business Daily):
"It's why we have call boxes; it's why we have safe zones; it's why we have the whistles; because you just don't know who you're gonna be shooting at."
Women, Salazar opined, "couldn't possibly know if they are in danger. And you don't know if you feel like you're gonna be raped, or if you feel like someone's been following you around or if you feel like you're in trouble when you may actually not be, that you pop out that gun and you pop ... pop around at somebody."A whistle, a call box, a safe zone--all these will prevent a rape! You're so stupid to think you need a gun!
And Colorado Democrat Ulibarri claimed a ballpoint pen should be sufficient to repel an attacker (why not a box cutter?).
The precious advice to prevent rape isn't limited to stupid legislators of all genders; here's what a Colorado college put on their website in suggestions to prevent rape:
The list of 10 tips by the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs was billed as "last resort" options to deter a sexual assault. So let's just run down the list of stupid reasons offered by stupid Colorado Democrats to prevent rape:
"Tell your attacker that you have a disease or are menstruating," read one tip.
"Vomiting or urinating may also convince the attacker to leave you alone," read another.
- Go to a safe zone. Apparently the minute you stand across the line presto the rapist won't follow.
- Use the common ordinary ballpoint pen stuffed in the 4th pocket of your backpack inside 2 zippers to stab him in his carotid artery. Maybe he'll bleed to death before he can do anything.
- Use "the whistle." Maybe like dogs it'll hurt his ears and he'll run away.
- Use a call box because most women don't have cell phones right.
- Claim you have aids. Presumably the flu won't do it.
- Claim you are menstruating. All males--and even some females--are put off by the "ick" factor of "Emily the visitor."
- Stick your finger down your throat and try to throw up on the guy. Rapists are usually grossed out by unpleasant stuff like vomit.
- Pee all over the guy, which assumes he's close enough to wet him down good, which kinda sounds like it's too late, if you know what I mean.
- Statistically you've been raped anyway so just give up because you too are stupid.
Or maybe you'll piss the rapist off so much he'll kill ya, screaming because you peed and threw up on him.
UPDATE: OTOH, maybe all Democrats are stupid. Watch this Democrat "strategist" preach that no one should be telling women what to do, like carry a gun or pee on their attacker.
Instead the ideal solution is to.....tell men not to rape! Cuz if they knew that it was wrong, they wouldn't do it. So the short of it is that rape is apparently not an illegal act of violence but an act of intellectual and moral choice that can be remedied if only they had known it was wrong.
But then we've always known that it was ok to tell men what to do but not women cuz they're, you know, smarter than men.
