Santorum Opens Wide Lead in Michigan
Rick Santorum has opened up a wide lead in Michigan with 39% to Mitt Romney's 24%. Ron Paul gets 12% and New Gingrich trails with 11%. Santorum gets the majority of the Tea Party vote with 53% to 22% for Romney and 10% for Gingrich. Things could change since only 47% of voters say they are certain of their choice. Not only has Gingrich declined relative to the other candidates, Republicans don't like anymore. He has a 38% favorable to 47% unfavorable rating. I'm hopeful the strong Tea Party support for Santorum carries over to Clark Durant. As PPP notes Romney was the presumed favorite in Michigan since he lived there and his father was once the governor.
