I Left....San Francisco

San Francisco is a beautiful city. I used to love visiting the place, mostly because of the great seafood restaurants and beautiful views on the Wharf.

The last time I was there was almost twenty-five years ago. We had flown there for a weekend with another couple and were sitting in the lobby bar of the Hyatt Regency on the Embarcadaro. What we witnessed the next hour or so was not to be believed.

People dressed in costumes started arriving in the lobby. There were couples and singles, both male and female, scantily clad, or simply not clad at all, walking by. Turned out there was a “Ball” that evening hosted by an organization called COYOTE (Call Off Your Tired Old Ethics). The organization was a political action group composed of hookers and pimps looking to decriminalize prostitution.

I am not a prude, by any stretch of anyone's imagination but I decided right there and then that if God did not destroy San Francisco, He owed an apology to Sodom and Gomorrah. I have not been back since.  There were children in that hotel...!

The Anointed One was in San Francisco yesterday to attend a fund raiser for himself surrounded by his adoring left-winged minions. There were the usual protesters that show up at those sorts of functions. The Occupy grunge group was there, the occasional homeless guy pushing his supermarket cart, gawkers and the casually disinterested.

Amazingly, the TEA Party was out in force protesting, among other things, the administrations latest attacks on the religious Right. As always, they were a peaceful crowd, not breaking any laws, and no rapes or public urination were reported.

The liberals in the city (aren't they all?) had declared earlier in the week that no one would be pointing a finger at the Anointed One in San Francisco that day.

Of course, this was a reference to Gov. Jan Brewer of Arizona who had the audacity to point her finger at the AO on his visit to Phoenix, and a double-dare to the TEA Party.

The photo below shows what the TEA Partiers thought of the left-wing declaration that week.

Unless I miss my guess, we will be seeing a whole lot more of those red fingers in the coming months.

  2. Zombietime (an anonymous reasonable leftist citizen journalist) covers San Francisco extensively. That beer festival they have is just incredible. Like, so bad, my eyes bled when I looked. If you're interested in reliving your SanFran experience, you can find all kinds of pics here: http://www.zombietime.com/hall_of_shame/

I'm always surprised there's any conservative life there. I'm also not eager to go.
