The reason the debate over the debt ceiling is so contentious is because the President is black. So says the deep thinking Congresswoman from Houston, Sheila Jackson Lee. The Hill quotes Jackson Lee as saying
"I do not understand what I think is the maligning and maliciousness [toward] this president,” said Jackson Lee, a member of the Congressional Black Caucus. “Why is he different? And in my community, that is the question that we raise. In the minority community that is question that is being raised. Why is this president being treated so disrespectfully? Why has the debt limit been raised 60 times? Why did the leader of the Senate continually talk about his job is to bring the president down to make sure he is unelected?”
It would be wrong to imply that Jackson Lee's comments are representative of all Congressional Democrats or even the Congressional Black Caucus but this lame rhetoric that seeks to excuse the incredible arrogance and monumental ineptitude of a preening, narcissistic man child is all too common. The President continues to demean his office and embarrass the country with threats to seniors, ad hominem political sniping, and deliberate misrepresentations of the truth and his allies think he is a victim of prejudice. Give us a break!
She is the most hated of all congresspeople because her behavior is so bad. Do they not realize they are WEARING out the racist accusation? Nobody takes it seriously anymore.
