Mandel Out Raises Brown By $800,000

Sharrod Brown must be hearing footsteps coming up fast from behind.
Ohio state Treasurer Josh Mandel raised $2.3 million for his bid against Sen. Sherrod Brown. Mandel raised more in the second quarter of this year than Brown, who announced last week that he collected $1.5 million during the same period.Brown also reported $3.5 million in the bank at the end of June. Mandel’s campaign did not disclose the candidate’s cash on hand. When a challenger out raises an incumbent by $800,000 that is big news!

For all the hoopla about the $86 million raised by the Democrats in the last quarter there is little to celebrate. Obama's share of the take was $47 million as compared George Bush's $50 million for the same period in 2003.

  1. thanks, i missed that. I will have to get in on the donating. Sherrod Brown is the most liberal senator and Josh is a gem, a war veteran, I think. People are stupid if they think they can tell whats going on in the country by comparing how much the incumbent president raises compared to all the other candidates when we are watchingnour pennies and donating to races like Wisconsin.
