Obama administration STILL not helping oil spill

Although the MSM is reluctant to cover this story, the response of the Obama administration to the oil spill has been absolutely disastrous. Although he made a significant photo op posing in front of Gulf residents and explaining that he could not "suck the oil up with a straw," (as no one expected him to) what he could have done was cut the bureaucracy in the Gulf region, put local people who care about their land in charge, and speedily provide government funds and equipment to the area.
  He did not do this.
  Where are the environmentalists?
  Where are the PETA fanatics?
When these people start shrieking about environmental issues, remember this: in the greatest environmental disaster in the past 100 years, they've been partisan, political and absent.
Why is the Army Corps of Engineers part of the problem rather than the solution?
After three months, the government, according to Carafano in today's Post, is still "stuck on stupid."
To build rock jetties and other oil barriers -- even to sop up oil when it reaches a swamp -- state and local jurisdictions must first gain approval from multiple federal agencies. Louisiana offered proposal after proposal to block the oil slick heading for Grand Isle.
Yet federal officials sat on the plans for weeks, then rejected them -- and offered no alternatives for preventing the fouling of Barataria Bay.
So the First Amendment is suspended. They've stopped the press from covering the area. All this effort is put into secrecy and hiding, but not into helping clean the spill? What's wrong with this picture?

In addition, the government has seized control of the website, formerly Deep Horizon Response,  and transformed it into a political endorsement of government response cheerily named Restore the Gulf describing the current situation, complete with earnest speeches and photo ops showing government largesse:
