Unions Protest CPAC

Don't let the revelation that union protestors demonstrating outside the CPAC conference are getting paid surprise you. Unions usually pay members on their out of work list to picket. The news to take away from this is this is not Occupy DC but rather a union protest. The Hill is reporting "there appears to be deep racial undertones to the one taking place at CPAC. About a hundred African-Americans gathered around a man standing on an upside-down recycling bin while he shouted about ancestry into a megaphone and chanted, "Our DC, our America." Is The Hill just now learning that most DC residents are black? The good news is these guys are a great deal smarter than the Occupy crowd and probably have been told not to get the union involved in a lawsuit.

I've been waiting for some gossip on them today but seriously did NOT think that the union would be so stupid as to pay ALL of them.

  2. That's the way construction and other unions that have unemployed members work. Sixty bucks a day is a little better than I got but I quit in the early 90's. It's usually paid in cash and normally it's no big deal. Don't expect these guys to hang around after dark. Sixty bucks probably won't buy eight hours let alone overtime.
