Senate GOP Will Force Vote On Jobs Bill
The Gop will force a Senate vote on Obama's jobs bill. "The president wants a vote and we're going to be sure to give it to him," Sen. Jim DeMint said Tuesday. While on the House side Eric Cantor has declared the bill dead on arrival, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell plans to force a vote knowing that the Democrats will be hard pressed to round up support. Too many Senate Democrats are vulnerable in the 2012 for a bill raising taxes to pass. While McConnell knows it will force Democratic Senators to abandon Obama he himself does not support the bill. A down vote in the Senate would put Obama in the awkward position of having to blame Senate Democrats for failure of his much touted jobs bill.
