This wasn't supposed to happen. Barack Obama had expressed his solidarity with them. Dennis
Kucinich had made videos promising his support. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee had collected signatures to show support. Then the Occupy Wall Street went off script and staged a demonstration on the lawn of Jeffery Immelt's home. "In the land of the free they tax me but not G.E.!" read the invitation to take an hour's bus ride to Immelt's family home to join the protest. A crowd of about 100 demonstrators took the Connecticut Working Families bus ride to the modest 10 bedroom, 6 bathroom, New Canaan home of the GE CEO and friend of Barack Obama. Immelt had supported OWS in the past telling CNN Money,
"It is natural to assume people are angry, and so I think we have to be empathetic and understand that people are not feeling great."
And that's the thanks he gets !

So they're off the reservation. Hm. Don't suppose this will lead anywhere else. They'll all still vote for Obama.
ReplyDeleteYeah but a lot of them don't bother to vote.
