Coshocton County Considers Drilling Lease From Anadarko
Coshocton county only has only one offer but it's worth $1.3 million up front against 17.5 percent of the gross. Anadarko E & P Co. offered $3,000 per acre for a five-year lease on oil and gas rights on county-owned property after the commissioners advertised for proposals. The land had been leased to the US Department of Agriculture for more than 70 years but budget cuts have forced USDA to abandon the site. Most of the drilling in Ohio's Utica Shale has been in Carroll county where 40 well have been permitted, 10 drilled and 4 are producing.
