TLC recently announced that it is making a reality series following the lives of Muslims living in America. The program is called “All American Muslims".The show will follow five families in Dearborn, Michigan and explore how they cope with assimilation or lack there of. One can't help but wonder if reality TV is the proper format. Maybe a sitcom would be better. Imagine the hilarity when 14 year old Fatima finds she can get free birth control pills from Obamacare. It could written along the lines of "All in the Family" where the fictional father, Muhammad, is a jihadist surrounded by a wife and family of Ron Paul libertarians. In one episode the wife, Abir worries that Muhammad won't like her tramp stamp while the son, Nasser is caught downloading porn on his Android. In another episode Fatima tell her dad she has a crush on her Jewish math teacher while Abir goes to Chicago to protest the trading of pork bellies. Maybe soon TLC will bring us "All American Illegals".
