Sarah Palin Is An Existential Threat To The Establishment

The 24,000 pages of emails released by the state of Alaska yesterday unearthed some awful insights on the day to day life of Sarah Palin. We now know:

She didn't text while driving but she would pray.

She was deeply involved in the details of governing.

She rearranged her schedule to take a phone call from British Petroleum CEO Tony Hayward to press for a pipeline.

She wished for a tanning bed.

She perceived the proliferation of the wolf population as a threat to Alaskans living in the remote regions of her state.

She wished to control the wolf population in a manner acceptable to the people living in her state.

She wanted to meet with candidate Obama.

She was very pro-Alaskan and sought to exploit Alaska's oil resources for the good of Alaska.

She was concerned about keeping liquor in her home with so many teenager running in and out.

She didn't like to travel if her husband, Todd, and infant Trig could not accompany her.

Even the British Daily Guardian got in on the feeding frenzy. Ok we have a woman who is said not to be very smart. A woman who is not sophisticated enough to understand what it takes lead a nation. A woman who could never be elected to anything again.Yet even the international press is interested in her most private thoughts. Does anyone give a good goddam about Mitt Romney's emails? Mitt could stand at the corner of 34th and Broadway handing out every thing he has ever put to pen and nobody would care. We have a woman who is "toxic" and "polarizing" who people camp out just to catch a glimpse of, a woman who has no political future but who boosts the rating of any television show that books her. A woman who evades the press whenever it suits her purposes and leaves chasing her down the interstate. Why do they care? The director of the documentary Undefeated, Stephen Bannon, tells us; "She is an existential threat to the establishment."
