Obama countdown

Morning roundup: heh. They're driving a clown car.

How is it that half the people in Detroit are functionally illiterate? And that Detroit just laid off all its teachers? And that the number of school employees per student is uneven, due to a massive outflux of people from the city of Detroit? The article linked above notes that only 10% of the people who "suffer" from lack of ability to read have sought "help" for their problem.
That used to be called school.

The House has cut funding to the states of Obamacare.

The higher education bubble is about to burst, according to any number of experts. Why would you go into debt for $160,000 with no job guarantee when you get out? Or the prospect of getting a job that pays $30,000 a year?

What the hell is wrong with these people? Sometimes you make the mistake of thinking that some of these politicians are normal; eh, not so much. Like, how could you link global warming taxes with bin Laden's death? Wow. Nuts.

Jim Treacher at Daily Caller says, "Obama administration takes victory lap in clown car." In addition, to having the funniest title this year, the article's pretty insightful too.

Tomorrow Obama is going to Ground Zero, his first visit there as president. He invited George Bush, who declined. Guess Bush was paying attention to what happened to Paul Ryan when he accepted an invitation from Obama. Donald Trump and a few Supreme Court Justices know a little bit about it too. When you only reach across the aisle to slap your opponents in the face, eventually they stop showing up. But hey, it’s entirely possible that Obama will use this moment to show some bipartisanship instead of just saying, “I’m really bipartisan, you guys” and then attacking people who disagree with him. Hey, it could happen.
