Mitch McConnell Says No To Tea Party

Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky has become the second Tea Party favorite to be passed over for a committee assignment. He had asked for a seat on the Senate Budget Committee when he entered the Senate but at the time a vacancy did not exist. When the resignation of Senator John Ensign created a vacancy the seat was given to Senator Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire. Both entered the Senate on the same day but Senator Paul has seniority as the result of a draw. Earlier this month Senator Jim De Mint of South Carolina was passed over for a seat on the Senate Finance Committee in favor of Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina. No post germane to Rand Paul would be complete without this priceless video.
