Immortality Through Appropriations

"The evil that men do lives after them; the good is oft interred with their bones...",

From Alaskan super porker, the late Ted Stevens, who brought us "The bridge to nowhere" comes his legacy "The ferry to nowhere" It seems the
Mat-Su Borough needed a ferry from Port MacKenzie to Anchorage. Just a simple little ferry boat! Is that too much ask? The solution was to joint venture with the United States Navy to build a twin hulled vessel that had ice breaking capabilities at the cost of only $78 million. Now that the boat is nearly complete here comes the glitch. It seems neither
Port MacKenzie nor
Anchorage has got around to building a landing. These landings will need drive-on drive-off capabilities and are only going to cost, oh say $18 million or so. But no hurry! The haven't selected the sites yet.
