Ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly

First the good news. People aren't layin' around takin' this anymore. In Ohio, tea partiers are organizing to support the health of this state, in addition to this country. And it's possible that some states, even blue states, are waking up to reality.
  But on to the ugliness.
You know, people see things differently. Across the planet, there will always be conservative thinkers and liberal thinkers; indeed, the definition of conservative and liberal varies from culture to culture.
But in our country, a certain faction has taken political correctness, racial attacks and threatening speech to a whole new level.
  Here are the issues:
1. The latest example of an ad hominem attack is the attack on Herman Cain, BLACK conservative, which, of course, makes him a target for all liberals, particularly BLACK liberals. This is unfortunate, because Mr. Cain seems like a good man, a good businessman and a fine American.
  So what has been sad?
Oh, he's a monkey. Yeah, that.
He's a performer for the WHITE establishment.
He's part of a MINSTREL show. Quote from Powerline, quoting the article. Link is over there to the original site.
n the immortal words of Megatron inTransformers: The Movie, Herman Cain's speech at CPAC really is bad comedy. As you know, I find black garbage pail kids black conservatives fascinating not because of what they believe, but rather because of how they entertain and perform for their White Conservative masters. ...
Instead, Herman Cain's shtick is a version of race minstrelsy where he performs "authentic negritude" as wish fulfillment for White Conservative fantasies. ...
We always need a monkey in the window, for he/she reminds us of our humanity while simultaneously reinforcing a sense of our own superiority. Sadly, there are always folks who are willing to play that role because it pays so well.
2.  Then we have the Pelosi story of cold shouldering a Blue Dog Democrat by removing him from any inner circle position because he supported someone else for minority leader. She didn't even have the decency to call. Small minded to the end, Pelosi plays mean girl politics, even at this late date in her life. Roll Call.
We've also got the Dem threat of shutting down websites without warrant but rather on suspicion. Weekly Standard:
COICA would allow the U.S. government to seize and remove websites from the Internet without due process and after only the allegation of copyright infringement. As Wired reported, COICA "would give the Attorney General the right to shut down websites with a court order if copyright infringement is deemed 'central to the activity' of the site -- regardless if the website has actually committed a crime. The Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act (COICA) is among the most draconian laws ever considered to combat digital piracy, and contains what some have called the 'nuclear option,' which would essentially allow the Attorney General to turn suspected websites 'off.'"
3. The FCC thinks they should act NOW because of Fox News. Apparently the FCC has something against opinion, as long as those opinions aren't shared by the FCC commissioners. The Hill:
Federal Communications Commissioner Michael Copps made a case for a government hand in media policy in a speech to the FCBA on Tuesday.
"The commission can act now. It should have acted on the media before now. I am disappointed that it has not," he said.
4. The Left is trying to support the good names of two conservative Supreme Court Justices. We knew THAT was coming because they are willing to do anything to preserve the health care monstrosity. Read at Oceanaris:
And that is the heart of the matter. The Left is doing its best to destroy those institutions which it opposes. This is not about the rule of law. It is about power and privilege. Intimidation, threats, deception and blackmail are the order of the day. We saw that with the passage of the health care bill on a scale that will keep the historians busy for decades. The Left wants tame courts and the ability to venue shop for them in order to pass any old thing they want. The use of executive orders and the regulation process are part and parcel of this process.
5. The Left has shut down the investigation of wrongdoing on the part of the DOJ regarding the New Black Panthers suppression of the vote. Pajamas Media:
The Commission’s Interim Report details the infamous and lawless conduct not just of the New Black Panther Party, but of the Justice Department and its current officials. It includes excerpts of the whistleblowers’ shocking testimony, examples of instructions by DOJ officials not to enforce the civil rights laws on behalf of whites, and powerful concurring statements from commissioners who worked on the investigation for so long.
6. The Atlantic reports on the budget gimmicks being used to justify the expense of Obamacare.
So take a shower. We're going to clean this mess up too.
7. UPDATE: NRO: A liberal "fellow at the NYU Center for Law and Security, Nir Rosen" who tweeted that Lara Logan, the CBS reporter who was brutally beaten and sexually assaulted in Cairo, had no sympathy for her, calling her a "warmonger" and wavered back and forth between backtracking and expressing ever more frustration that people couldn't see his point of view, like it would have been "funny if it'd happened to Anderson too." But it's okay, because Rosen is just finding "humor in the small things," even though it was a pretty common thing that happens to women, apparently, according to MISTER Rosen.
Yeah, well, shut the tweet up, gashole.
