Is it possible they believe this? That they have said it so often that they really do believe it now, even after initially asserting it to insert it as a meme into the political culture to deflect the impact of the tea party?
Perhaps they just do not understand the calling that so many of us received in the last couple years. Perhaps they just do not understand the idea of responsibility, good old Puritan work ethic, and the lack of a sense of entitlement as we look to the future for our children and the country they will inherit.
If not, if they don't understand these things, shame on them. They have no right to take the freedom and prosperity we have enjoyed for granted this way.
Blogger doesn't like Eyeblast TV embeds, so watch this video over at Weasel Zippers.
Now trot right on over to Tea Party Tracker, a George Soros endeavor, and laugh out loud at what they consider to be "extreme."
Reluctant to taint your browser's history by going over there? I'll fill you in.
It's extreme if you believe:
- Our country is losing freedom.
- Obama is on a reckless governmental path.
- Obama might be more Muslim friendly than Christian friendly.
- The government spends too much money.
- Restoring Honor rally wasn't political.
- Some of the t-shirts at the rally were highly objectionable. (They had to read the t-shirts because signs were forbidden. Of course, you can't tell if the pictures of the t-shirts were taken at the rally or outside Think Progress's offices. But I digress.)
- MLK wouldn't have been a PROGRESSIVE.
- And from the EYE WITNESS extremist t-shirt Flickr page:
- You stand with Arizona.
- You feel you're Taxed Enough Already.
- Obamacare is senior genocide.
- Pay your own mortgage.
- America: Love it or go back to Kenya (heh).
It's pretty thin, pathetic stuff. If this is all they've got, it's pretty bad. They'll have to start making things up.
Oh, wait. They already done that, more than once.
