Koran burning church associated with Westboro protestors

There seems to be a connection between the Westboro "God Hates Fags" so-called Christians (NOT!) who protest soldiers' funerals in the most abominable way and the very odd so-called Christians who are burning Korans on Saturday. Irony: The so-called church's name is Dove International Outreach is pretty antithetical to their reality. Oh, they've become international and they're are "outreaching" in a pretty BIG way but the Dove part is a mystery. Here's a Google cache of their webpage and HERE is a blog commentary on the church. The following is Dove's endorsement of Westboro and Phelps, the leader of the God Hates Fags movement.
We have also learned that when you speak out about what God hates, you will be hated. We do not agree with all of Westboro's methods, but we admire their determination to find radical ways to preach the truth of the Bible, as we do. Most churches and Pastors in America try to stand on neutral ground. They are lost, weak and sick and need to repent.
According to Big Journalism, Westboro's so-called minister has an interesting history of being an ambulance chasing lawyer who has filed numerous worthless lawsuits. Oh, and he's a Democrat:
Phelps, a Democrat, has spent the majority of his life spewing disgusting and distasteful statements; he is the “spiritual” and political leader who both fuels and serves as the prime catalyst for the group’s work.  His church, dominated by members of his own family, has no official connection with any viable Christian denomination.  In fact, Westboro is more appropriately described as a cult of insanity
Of course, although left wingers like to claim that Westboro represents the right wing, Fred Phelps and the Westboro Church seek to discredit the Christian church, specifically by Westboro's despicable and unloving behavior.
  Hm.
Odd, huh, how that works out. A democrat seeking to discredit Christians. Hm.
In fact, Phelps is, as revealed by Conservapedia:
Phelps has been an active contributor to the Democratic Party and was enthusiastic supporter of Al Gore for President in 1988.[5] Phelps's son, Fred Phelps, Jr., also served as a delegate for Gore. [6]
And:
Phelps ran for governor of Kansas as a Democrat in 1990, 1994, and 1998.[9] Phelps received 31% of the vote in Kansas's 1992 Democratic Party primary for U.S. Senate.[10] In 1993 Phelps ran for mayor of Topeka. and 1997. [11][12] He supported Al Gore in the 1988 primaries, but turned on him in the 1992 election where he staunchly opposed Gore, Bill, and Hillary Rodham Clinton.
How crazy is THAT, you cats out there? Bet y'all never heard that Phelps was a registered democrat who ran AS A DEMOCRAT for governor.
Lots more over at Conservapedia about this guy.
