NYT: wheeee! a chance to slam FNC and Beck at the same time!

NY Times has a hit piece on the Fox/Beck breakup, filled with snarky adjectives and anonymous observations. As usual, much is inferred without verification.
For example, here are some of the comments in the story:

  • The title: Beck and Fox End Relationship Grown Cold
  • torrent of acrimony
  • fractious
  • living with his own facts
  • Beck...giving voice to disaffected Americans who were deeply troubled by President Obama's election
  • conspiracy
  • unhappy from almost his first day on the job, which happened to be the day before Mr. Obama was inaugurated
  • constant sniping, planted stories, discomfort
  • fractures
  • both sides had had enough
  • likely to amount to occasional specials and appearances, nothing more
  And so forth.
  You get the picture.
For being an "objective" news report, it's pretty snipey and biased but what is most objectionable is the implication that Tea Partiers and Beck are racist. Note the commentary that the Tea Party came into existence because of racial prejudice against Mr. Obama, rather than his policies.
I don't know about you, but most people I'm familiar with were happy that Mr. Obama was elected, in spite of our differences. Indeed, in the beginning of his tenure, there really was hope that this would be a post racial America.
Instead what has happened is that Mr. Obama has energized the non-productive to demand more from the energetic; he's also working on enervating the productive and American businesses.
Mr. Beck says his relationship with FNC is in great shape. He may be apocalyptic and somewhat conspiratorial though he unfortunately is often right.
It's hard to imagine the energy it takes to do the numerous things Mr. Beck does.
You may not buy everything Beck has to say or the way he says it, but he's very sincere and honest.
His radio show is also a lot funnier and easy to listen to than his tv show at FNC.
  He's a good businessman, too.
He'll be around. There are lots of opportunities; Beck will surely take advantage of them.
