Racial bias caused him to murder 9 people

Once again, the race card is being played to excuse bad (in this case, monstrous) behavior. At some point in our culture, it is hoped that people will give up this excuse to defend aggression toward others. We saw it when 9/11 happened, as numerous people said it was US policy that triggered the attack: others said that the problem was that the hijackers were poor and uneducated and felt disenfranchised from the world, ignoring the fact that the hijackers were all privileged and well educated individuals who had been taught to hate.
Initially there was hope that electing a black individual as president would help ease tensions and perhaps move the country into a more enlightened era where people no longer judge everything by the color of skin.
The individual who shot up the beer company in Connecticut claimed he shot "five racists" that were "bothering" him, regardless of the fact that he had never filed any complaints, asked for help or told anyone at the plant that there was a problem.
Instead we have his relatives and friends on television today matter of factly and dispassionately claiming that the man's nerves had failed him and that he had finally broken. No sympathy for the victims was expressed for the cameras. Instead there were the usual tactics of shifting the blame for the shooter's behavior onto someone else.
The headlines says it all: "Family: Racial bias caused Conn. gunman to snap."
REPEAT: People are responsible for their own behavior.
  Read about it at Yahoo.
