It begins: denial of cancer drugs to Medicare/Medicaid patients

Just as critics of the health care law feared, the government is about to come between the patient and the doctor. In this case, the government entities are Medicare and Medicaid and the patients are elderly. ALL 65 year olds go on Medicare, perhaps supplemented by other insurance through retirement programs. There have been many stories about treatment being denied in England for basic diseases like cancer and treatments such as hip replacements and setting broken bones; Berwick is a devotee of the English system and openly talks about limiting health care to the very young and those 65 and older. Read a rundown here from Hot Air and follow the links to verify the information at the various cancer websites:
Just days after the recess appointment of Donald Berwick, the controversial new head of Medicare and Medicaid, the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance posted the following grim news: for the first time in history, an FDA-approved anti-cancer therapy may not be covered by Medicare.
