Meet Tea Party Senate Candidate Tom Smith

There are a lot of first time Republican Senate candidates and a few of those are exciting but what about a Tea Party candidate who actually founded a Tea Party group as opposed to the Tea Party candidate in my home state who prefers to be called the consensus candidate, who, as he says, has always run with an R next to my name; not a T. I'm writing of course of that lamentable excuse of a Tea Party candidate Dick Mourdock who will not be getting my vote. That race is about to get a lot more interesting and I'll keep you posted but getting back to the Tea Party founder running for senate look to Pennsylvania. Tom Smith co-founded the Indiana-Armstrong Tea Party Patriots group in 2009 and served as chairman until this summer. Smith must get by two strong and likeable opponents in Steve Welch and Tim Burns in the primary before he can take on Bob Casey but has loaned his campaign $750,000 which gives him a strong advantage. Aside from his Tea Party background, Smith has something else on his resume' that will send the green movement sobbing into hyperventilation. He started and until recently operated a coal mine. OMG a real coal mine ! He probably had to get his hands dirty! He probably clings bitterly to his guns and religion too!

  1. Don't get so excited about Tom Smith until you find out the whole story behind this arrogant man. Go to his hometown of Elderton or ask his former employees what Tom Smith is about. A former democrat who muscled his way in to control the local tea party for his own agenda. Once his wife retired from the Armstrong School District and he was assured her hefty pension, he sided along with corrupt Sen. Don White to appease the Armstrong County elitists and interfere in school district elections. Also interfered in halting building projects causing the district to lose 7 million in architectural and other fees for nothing. Don't trust him!
corrupt Senator Don White to interfere in school district elections. They stopped the districts building projects ( the money already borrowed

    1. Mr. Anonymous, I'm a little skeptical of anonymous sources bringing up new allegations without any sources. Are there ANY newspaper articles or even non-anonymous people who will back up your charges?
Until then, we'll keep in mind the damage that Obama and Casey are inflicting on the USA, and how we can elect a REAL representative to REPEAL OBAMACARE!

  2. My name is Anonymous because I know who Mr. Smith is connected to. I am not saying support Obama or Casey, I am saying there are much better candidates to choose from than this dishonest man. Mr. Smith did not found the Armstrong Indiana Patriots. He got involved and took over the group stabbing the original founder in the back. The Armstrong Indiana Patriots are not a genuine Tea Party group with the values the Tea Party supports. It is a dwindling group of people who are only accepted if they see things Mr. Tom Smith's way. Those who live in Armstrong County PA know this very well.

There were rumors for months that Mr. Smith was going to sell his company. All denied by Mr. Smith until the deal was done. He sold his company to Rosebud Mining for $220 million with little warning to his employees. Some went to Rose Bud, others unemployed. I was told by a woman that worked over 15 years from him, he came into the office, broke the news, and as the employees were in shock (she herself crying) he said "well, it's been fun" as he walked out the door. Believe it or not. This is what we know as the real Tom Smith.
