The investigation of "operation fast and furious" that is currently focused on the field operations of the BATF maybe should be focused on the congressional funding. Operation fast and furious was authorized by the stimulus bill. Who-what congressman by name thought funding the purchase of assault rifles to export to Mexico would create jobs. On thing is certain. Not one Republican voted for this hair brained scheme and all but a few Democratic legislators and the president who signed it need to explain to the public how this was to create jobs.
