The Ego That Roared, part deux

The little incident, which is really a SIGNIFICANT incident, yesterday was remarkable for any number of reasons. Obama's behavior revealed so much in the way he treated Clinton, the press and the American people.
Granted, Clinton loves the center of attention and, granted, he was enjoying the spotlight once again, so much so that he seemed a bit pathetic. But regardless, the whole thing was really really weird.
Clinton did in the presser everything that Obama SHOULD have done, including complimenting the Republicans for their working with the current president.
As has been pointed out elsewhere, Obama's press conference was a petty, mean embarrassment because he doesn't seem to be able to appreciate anything or anyone but himself.
1. Obama did not show respect for a former president. The contempt and condescension on his face as he watched are apparent.

2. Obama distanced himself from the debate and from anything Clinton had to say by not even staying to listen to what Clinton was telling the press and, ultimately, the nation.
3. Obama's behavior is similar to Clinton's early behavior of arrogance behavior the Republican fiscal conservatives' policies (oh, brother, where art thou?) saved his bacon; only thing is, Obama doesn't seem to have learned his lesson.
4. Clinton's presence evoked nostalgia; Obama was jealous of the air of nostalgia in the room, the reporters' love for the Bubba days and the knowledge that things were lots better economically under Clinton.
5. The stark difference between the two of them is apparent. Clinton is good extemporaneously; Obama is not. Obama cannot do what Clinton does, which is to naturally show affection (bleh) for people in general. The One does not feel this affection, nor can he fake it.
6. Obama indicated he doesn't need to hear anything Bill Clinton has to say because he knows it all already, and more.
7. A party? Seriously? A party? You're president of the United States and your WIFE demands that you leave a formal press conference to help decide where the NAPKINS GO? He left a former president shilling for him publicly, after calling him up for the first time (in recent memory) to appear publicly with him before the press for a PARTY? Clinton himself even seems stunned, admittedly.
On a side note, boy, I bet she gave it to him when she saw what he did. Heh.
Here's video of The One's disgraceful behavior in the press conference yesterday.

  1. Will Jimmy Carter be the next presidential stand in? Obama may have out flanked us on the two year tax extention deal. In 2012 he can recycle all his 2008 speechs and promise to soak the rich, preserve the tax cuts for the middle class and close Gitmo.

  2. I canNOT understand how conservatives can be saying Obama looked good with what he did the other day. I've heard it repeatedly, now, about how BRILLIANT he is. It's disgusting, really. He looked like a jackass. Pardon my language.
Yeah, old Jimmy's crackers these days. I'm beginning to wonder if Obama isn't too.
