I'm not sure Congresswoman Maxine Waters intended to out Obama and his marvelous database. She was not referring to NSA but to the DNC however if the database that Waters thinks is so powerful can alter elections why should the public be sanguine about NSA's collecting of metadata from phone records, the internet, and credit card transactions? Will the next election be determined by 2 NSA rogue agents in Utah?

Another hot IRS hearing
~House Oversight Committee meeting today on c-Span radio. Today's hearing, which I am listening to on the c-Span app for iPhone, seems to be taking a different tack.
The IRS crooks employees are extremely apologetic, humble and self-effacing. It gets annoying, however, when they apologetically discuss "inappropriate" expenditures, "subsequent restructuring" and the need to "standing in the taxpayers' shoes" to "understand what taxpayers are feeling when dealing with the IRS," all euphemisms for crookery.
The Republicans are hitting over and over the point that the IRS will be in charge of our health care decisions. Good.
No attendance was taken at the conference to know if people actually showed up to the seminars they were supposed to attend.
The particular conference under the microscope today is the one that has been presented at a cost of $4.1 million dollars but only 90% of the cost was actually documented, as Hoosierman noted previously.
At one point, however, one Republican asked if the IRS only has records for 90% of the costs and has no record of the other %10, how does the IRS know that only 10% is missing??
In fact, when questioned, the IRS official could not say that the total cost was only $4.1 million but rather it might be more than $5 million?

When to accuse others of racism
You'll note, I hope, that I resisted the urge to post commentary about how stupid Martin Bashir's ridiculous assertion is that by focusing on the IRS scandal, Obama's opponents are guilty of committing racism. Code language, the IRS word is, for calling Obama the N word.
The web erupted with mockery the minute word got out.

Come ON! Shouldn't I be able to marry my dog?
Ok, I have to admit I'm somewhat on the fence about gay marriage, not as it concerns the church. Churches has the right to do what they want and not have the government force its will on strongly held religious beliefs. That's kind of the whole point of separation of church and state.
We've already seen this principle of freedom of religion betrayed by the Obamabots because the government is forcing religious institutions and businesses to provide abortion and abortifacient coverage, even though it's against deep held beliefts.
Yet personally I struggle with the issue because I believe in monogamy and I also believe some folks are born gay. Not everyone is Christian, I understand, as I am. To "sin" means different things to different religions.
Yet the idea of the government changing the definition of traditional marriage makes me uneasy for many reasons.
And here we have several.
We hear that an LGBT activist heckled Michelle Obama, only to be rebuffed by FLOTUS (can't say I blame her, to be honest) for the idea of encouraging POTUS to issue an executive order legalizing gay marriage. I'm pretty sure that if he could get away with it today, POTUS would do that. God only knows what he'll do in the last year of his second term.
But by nature, Leftists have grievances and, dang it! They want what they want and they want it now. It doesn't matter what YOU in your puny little "beliefs and principles" prison think. THEY know what's best for society and they'll make you feel absolutely cretinous if you don't agree.
So we have the extremely annoying gay activists who want it all NOW, no matter what is right or what the majority of this country thinks. I hate to give them satisfaction. This is reason number three.
Reason number two is the big push--which, believe it or not, has already started--to legalize marriage between more than two people. This is what happens when you start tinkering with an age old belief system.
And, see, that's what extremely annoying people do. They never give up until they get what they want. Once they get what they want, they find other stuff they want, no matter how destructive their "wishes" are to the culture or the fabric of society.
And that's just downright stupid. In fact, when Romney was running, there was a lot of hooting from left wingers about Mormon polygamy. Funny how they've all retreated on that point, probably because they have set their sights on the new goal.
But here's my number one reason for being not inclined to support gay marriage at this point.
How long will it be before people want to marry their pets? Or worse, their neighbor's pet? Or their ex's pet? And then there'll be fights in court over divorcing cats and dogs and even pigs.
And really, why shouldn't it be ok to marry a cat, a hamster or that cow in the big yard? Who are YOU in your pathetic archaic supposedly moral beliefs to say it's wrong?
Better still, if you're, say, an academic and you've already been having sexual relations with your dog, why wouldn't you want to take it one step further and marry that dog?
It won't matter if you're already married, because, you know, the whole polygamy thing. Polygamy, after all, means "many partners." It doesn't specify those partners have to be people.
Ah, you've gone too far, you say. I hear you clucking your tongues over the internet right now as you read.
Well, here's my proof that I'm right about this issue. Karl Lagerfeld over at the Telegraph:

The dramatic mournful television ads, melancholy music ( maybe Madonna singing about being all you can be, girlfriend!) in the background, the tearful child looking into the camera, the adult sadly sitting at the table with the cup of coffee (camera pans to fidgeting fingers), and the solemn voiceover (Tom Hanks?) intoning that--to be fair--to be equitable--to make life complete for all, it's only right that this pitiful woman be able to marry her dachsund. Why, look, even the dachsund is weepy!
Yeah, you know, there's something good about being old. You can worry about these things and then be glad.
Really, really glad that maybe you won't be alive to see that happen.

Megyn Kelly Clashes with Rep. Jim McDermott
Tone deaf Congressman Jim McDermott can't seem to understand that dragging out applications indefinitely is worse than denying them. Perhaps the Capitol Police are taking a cue from the IRS. Don't deny Tea Party Patriots a permit just drag out the application until after the event date. In reality McDermott knows damn well what he's saying. He is just an incorrigible liar. His demagoguery didn't sway Megan Kelly. Watch.

Illinois Democrats Cancel Vote on Same Sex Marriage
Marriage equality, the trendy moniker for state sanctioned sodomy, took a hit in the Land of Lincoln as Democratic leaders in the
Illinois General Assembly cancelled a vote on the contentious issue. Even though the Democrats have super majorities in both legislative houses and a Democratic Governor traditional marriage still prevails. What sells in Chicago doesn't always sell in Carbondale and downstate Democrats are mindful that they may no longer be part of any majority if they get this vote wrong.
Downstate Illinois has a fascinating history replete with labor strife, prohibition era rural gangs, blood feuds, Klu Klux Klan atrocities, and bank robbers. While the Klan and the Shelton gang went out of vogue 80 years ago rural Illinois is not a hotbed of progressive political thought. Catholics and Masons still feud with a gusto that has abated little since the 1930's but the marriage issue is one place were they can find common ground. Democratic leaders promise to bring the bill up for a vote later but it will still be a hard sell to career conscious legislators from downstate.

Several Dems uttered the caveat that "what happened to you was wrong" because it was "foolish" and a "mistake" before slamming the citizen patriots for even being involved in the political process.
Let's remind ourselves that NAACP, the ACLU and the AARP are all 501c4s. Interesting that suddenly "objective" "news" organizations are suddenly suspicious of who should have such status. AND Obama's Organizing for America??
It was especially rich when McDermott snootily claimed it was the government's obligation to be wary of how they spend the taxpayers' money. O.M.G.
This after all the billions of dollars that are spent foolishly, including studying why lesbians are fat, how to get Chinese prostitutes to stop excessive drinking, creating Star Wars "parodies" and luxury vacations for numerous governmental agencies.
Once again, I have to agree with Peggy Noonan in the WSJ, who writes that this scandal is far worse than Watergate, no matter what Tom Brokaw says:

Massive "Audit the IRS" Rally Planned in Washington
Tea Party Patriots will organize a mass "Audit the IRS" protest in Washington on June 19. Jenny Beth Martin, the co-founder of Tea Party Patriots, in an email blast wrote:
"Together we stand with all of the groups and individuals who were affected and give our fellow Americans the opportunity to see more of the people who have been unfairly abused by the IRS. We have been fighting for constitutionally limited government for over 4 years. The discriminatory tactics from the IRS and an abusive government will not intimidate us or stop us from fighting for the country we love."

The IRS spend a forever cautions the citizenry to save its financial records for at least 5 years. Yet when its inspector general sought the verify how much the agency spent on one of its so called training conferences the supervisors responsible for the flagrant waste of public money couldn't come up with the receipts. As we sniffed yesterday, today we hear that the IRS scandal is "ready to explode" due to lowerlings (you know, the 99%) who are sick of being blamed for doing what their bosses told them to do by targeting conservatives.

The Devil and Mother Jones
During the hearing of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur did us something less than proud with her attack on groups seeking 501(c)(4) tax status. The aging legislator quoted Mother Jones Magazine, the same organization that published the illegally recorded conversation of Senator Mitch McConnell and his staff. The Foundation for National Progress which publishes Mother Jones is registered as a 501(c)(3) meaning it is is technically a public charity. Most churches have the same exempt status. If Kaptur is so intent on finding organizations that abuse the spirit of tax exempt rules she need look no further than Mother Jones.

Is Obama uninformed or dishonest?
So which is it?
Is President Obama the most uninformed, uninterested president in United States history?
So uninformed that he has absolutely no idea what's going on in his administration, which even Axelrod has admitted is too, too, too big?
Or is he devious, spearheading all the scandals that have bedeviled his administration and pretending not to know what's going on?
Either way, his so-called leadership is appalling.
Love the faux rage over the IRS targeting, but still waiting to hear the stern commands to clean up the cess pool that is the IRS.
He doesn't appear to be interested in doing that.
But then, maybe that's because he's like God, according to Newsweek's Evan Thomas, hovering above the fray.
Interesting that Evan Thomas's eval of God has changed recently to hypocritical and dishonest.

The rats are jumping ship, it would appear. Whether the ship goes down or not we've yet to see.

But the damage that's been done to the IRS--not to mention the FBI and other government entities who've targeted American citizens--is extensive.

But this weekend we learned that the orders came from on high; in fact, specific requests for specific groups came down from D.C.

Lerner has a reputation for a vindictive meanness that goes back years, so why should it surprise anyone that people like her are running loose in an administration where Obama has no idea what's going on, or so they all claim?
Gateway Pundit reminds us over 500 groups were targeted, while David Pflouffe, Obama appointee now claims there was "nothing political" at all about the targeting.
Other IRS employees have been promoted, and/or have social and/or personal connections to Leftist players who have personal stakes in destroying the Tea Parties across the country.
All this is complicated by a complicit media.
One of the problems with the current political environment is the complete subservience of Leftist citizens; they unrepentedly illegally tap Republicans' phones, cheerfully brag about committing voter fraud and use every political tool--illegal or not--to target the opposition.
As I've written before, however, I'm not sure the whole special prosecutor path is the one to take.
Greg Gutfield says government is grounding itself:
A conservative writer at the Guardian wonders why Leftists are "so rude to Republicans"; their behavior is incontrovertible. As Thomas Sowell has written, they think they're anointed.
And thus they have become their own gods.
What we wait for then, is apparently a few honest Democrats to come forward, which might be tough because the honest ones seem to be switching parties these days.
Oh, this is as big as Watergate, alright, bigger because it exposes the underbelly of a party so corrupt it will not or even cannot see the truth anymore, much less denounce it.
There've been dark days many times in this country; we know we fight not against flesh and blood but principalities.
And the merry warrior Greg Gutfield says (as I predicted, I might add) that the Obamabots embodied in the IRS have overplayed their hands.
So far they haven't shown any shame for their lawless behavior; we'll be lookin' for that.

Nevermind the appeasers--the IRS scandal IS a big deal. It’s such a big deal, it could ruin the agency forever, and take a few others down with it. And sure, it’s a lot of fun on the right to be clamoring for scalps--like, who should be fired and how many. But pink slips are small potatoes.

When I talked about grounding government, this is how it’s done. The IRS, through its actions, has grounded itself--disqualifying the joint from effectively coercing you to do anything without that being perceived as targeting. When President Obama said cynicism is a threat to democracy, he was looking through the kaleidoscope from the wrong end. It’s corruption that threatens big government. When, during that speech on drones, he defended his use of targeted lethal attacks on enemies, he could have just as easily been describing the IRS attacks on the right. This strategy is part of who they are. If you’re a big government lover, you are programmed to hate us and any person who threatens that cushy livelihood.
Which is why you should become that person. Doing so creates a force field against attack. When Elijah Cummings fretted that the IRS scandal could endanger future audits against citizens, it was a selfish, bizarre reaction to government overreach (siding with the attacker, not the victim)--but he was also right.
The IRS just dug big government’s grave. America now has the opportunity to look at the greedy monster that is expansive, progressive government and say, “We are done with you. Go away.”We've had little to cheer the past years. We ought to at least enjoy a little schadenfreude as we watch the dirty deeds revealed, along with more embarrassing videos and how the dolts spent $50 million on team building exercises so they could work as a team to destroy Republicans.

The Cupid Movie-Produced by the IRS
The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform released another IRS video. It's called the Cupid Movie. Aside from the production cost which are estimated to be about $60,000 for the trilogy, one has to wonder how a supervisor can justify employees spending working time on such frivolities. You will recall Democratic House members referring to the under funded and hard working employees of the IRS.

FBI Hassles Pregnancy Center That Offers Alternatives To Abortion
The harassing of the right continues. The IRS has been stymied but the FBI's domestic terrorism unit, the same unit that harassed True The Vote's founder Catherine Engelbrecht has set its sights on a pregnancy center in New York City that offers pregnant women an alternative to abortion. It has prevented 42,000 abortions but...
Based in New York City, the Expectant Mother Care-EMC FrontLine Pregnancy Centers has helped more than 42,000 women find abortion alternatives.
Apparently that is enough lives saved from abortion to make EMC a target for the FBI. Chris Slattery, National Director of the pregnancy center chain, tells LifeNews that, consistent with the recently discovered IRS attacks on pro-life groups, the FBI is now targeting EMC.
“President Obama has put the FBI on me, and they have politely invited me to headquarters to “talk” this week,” he said. “Domestic terrorism agents have called me in to answer their questions this week, as they launch an absurd case to intimidate us.”
It isn’t just the FBI. The state of New York has been gunning for this pregnancy center for years.
The targeting comes as the New York Attorney General has charged EMC with supposedly practicing medicine without a license.
“The Attorney General has just charged EMC with “practicing medicine without a license” for performing free ultrasounds despite us using certified technicians and doctors, and failing to inform clients that we don’t provide or promote abortion and contraception. This is the third AG to attack us since 1987,” Slattery says. (Read More)
