Now let's look at Michelle Obama's statements to CBS objectively.
You have Jodi Kantor, who interviewed 30 people close to the Obamas, who claims Michelle Obama interfered with staff decisions, had to be banned from meeting with them and have Valerie Jarrett mouth her wishes and got Gibbs so mad at her that he swore at her at a meeting when it became obvious that she was manipulating behind the scenes.Gibbs recently apologized for having sworn at her, which pretty much validates the fact that she irritated him so much that he felt he had a reason to swear at the FLOTUS.
You have Barack Obama telling the staff that Michelle thinks their rudder is pointed the wrong way. (??)
You have Michelle ordering Barack to sit down while she told everyone at a dinner how great he was, to which he timidly resat himself.
Now, rather than mildly ignore the reports the way other FLOTUSes have, Michelle O has leaped into the news to deny the claims that she is angry.
In fact, she is using the race card to claim that if people think she's an "angry black woman" (even though she certainly appears to be angry and she's black) then they're WRONG, dammit, WRONG and racist!
CBS:
The Kantor book portrays a White House where tensions developed between Mrs. Obama and former White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel and former press secretary and presidential adviser Robert Gibbs. The book, titled "The Obamas," describes Mrs. Obama as having gone through an evolution from struggle to fulfillment in her role at the White House, while labeling her an "unrecognized force" in pursuing the president's goals. Neither the president nor his wife agreed to be interviewed for the book.
"I do care deeply about my husband," Mrs. Obama said in the CBS appearance. "I am one of his biggest allies. I am one of his biggest confidants." But she sought to put aside "this notion that I sit in meetings."
"I guess it's just more interesting to imagine this conflicted situation here," she said. "That's been an image people have tried to paint of me since the day Barack announced, that I'm some kind of angry black woman."I dunno.
Why would anyone think that?
