A Michigan man is facing felony charges after police say he brought a gun into the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo.
The suspect told Perrysburg Township police he went to the center seeking help after his car broke down along I-75 and went to the center seeking help. But there's a problem with that innocent-sounding scenario
The Islamic Center has a school and the Serbian suspect was carrying a concealed weapon. Licensed to carry or not, situations like this are a lot more sensitive and serious after the Tucson shooting massacre.There is concern the man suffers from mental illness.
The Islamic Center has many fine citizens who contribute greatly to our community. We trust that Perrysburg Police will provide for their continued safety.
