Special Forces Pulled From Lybia A Month Before Attack

Chairman Darrell Issa will convene his Committee on Oversight and Government Reform next week. CBS is reporting that the committee has subpoenaed Lt. Col. Andy Wood, an Army Green Beret who oversaw Special Forces "Site Security Team" in Libya. Col. Wood's team was called home in August, a month prior to the Benghazi raid despite the fact that officials in Lybia wanted increased security. Woods and Ambassador Chris Stevens met daily and security was a daily challenge nevertheless Woods and his men were sent home. Three mobile security teams left Lybia between February and August.

Sununu; We have a Bumbler in the White House

Former New Hampshire Governor John Sununu doesn't think Obama will improve his debating skills any time soon. The crusty Romney advisor made the cable news rounds yesterday with the essential message that you can't fix stupid
"The Obama you saw last night was the Obama that has been in the White House for four years and that's why we have a problem."..."When you're not that bright you can't get better prepared."

A Possible Romney Blowout in Ohio?

Are we looking toward a Mitt Romney blowout in Ohio? I have harbored the notion since the 2010 elections that this cycle will be just as brutal for the Democrats for the simple reason that until the deficits and Obamacare are ended nothing has changed since the last election. I admit that maintaining that conviction has taken considerable effort in recent months but today Republican voters have pulled almost even with the Democrats in early voting in Ohio. In 2008 33% of absentee ballot went to Democrats and 19% went to Republicans giving the Democrats a +14 edge on election day. This year the percentages are 29% Democrat and 25% Republican, a mere +5 advantage.
According to University of Dayton Professor Larry Schweikart, "Although it is early, we will soon be at a point where--assuming Republicans vote for Romney--the Democrats will have to overwhelmingly win all the remaining early voting just to be even on November 6. But, given Ohio's voting history, if the numbers are even close after early voting, Obama will lose, and possibly lose big."
Controlling state government has its advantages. Since 2008 450,000 dead voters and duplicate registrations have been pruned from the voting rolls. Considering Obama won the state by 263,000 votes, Ohio's cleaner rolls could make a big impact.
While the overall state early voting has gone from plus 14 for the Democrats to only a plus 5 advantage the shift in some counties is more remarkable.
--Champaign County: Was +3% GOP, now +23% GOP - 20 point shift.
--Columbiana County: Was +9% DEM, now +9% GOP - 18 point shift.
--Crawford County: Was +3% DEM, now +12% GOP - 15 point shift.
--Cuyahoga County: Was +36% DEM, now +30% DEM (GOP already has 6,000 more requests than in 2008) - 6 point shift.
--Erie County: Was +24% DEM, now +7% DEM -17 point shift.
--Franklin County: Was +5% DEM, now +5% GOP - 10 point shift.
--Greene County: Was +4% DEM, now +19% GOP - 23 point shift.
--Harrison County: Was +22% DEM, now +5% DEM - 17 point shift.
--Hamilton County: Was +7% GOP, now +13% GOP - 6 point shift.
--Licking County: Was TIED, now +16% GOP - 16 point shift.
--Montgomery County: Was +29% DEM, now +5% DEM - 24 point shift.
--Muskingum County: Was +1% DEM, now +16% GOP - 17 point shift.
--Pickaway County: Was +12% DEM, now +15% GOP - 27 point shift.
--Seneca County: Was +1% DEM, now +13% GOP - 14 point shift.
--Summit County: Was +33% DEM, now +6 DEM - 27 point shift.
--Wood County: Was +10% DEM, now +1% GOP - 11 point shift.

Donor scandal looming for Obama?

For years, this website and many others have documented the Obama campaign's fondness for accepting insecure fraudulent donations.
While Republican politicians have had their donations locked down with eVerify, required by law, Obama never saw fit to do this.
This is one way he could get around the federal matching funds and allow himself to collect millions and millions of dollars from around the globe, though this is illegal.
Even the WaPo noticed back in 2008. Of course, they make it sound like "What could Obama do? Everyone wanted to donate to him!" rather than, "This guy's a cheat!"
Faced with a huge influx of donations over the Internet, the campaign has also chosen not to use basic security measures to prevent potentially illegal or anonymous contributions from flowing into its accounts, aides acknowledged. Instead, the campaign is scrutinizing its books for improper donations after the money has been deposited.
The Obama organization said its extensive review has ensured that the campaign has refunded any improper contributions, and noted that Federal Election Commission rules do not require front-end screening of donations.
  Refunded improper donations?
  We think not.
As long as the campaign can get along, cheating until after his reelection bid, what does it hurt him to continue?
Why not just wait until the couple thousand dollar fine is issued 4 years after the campaign has ended?
This cheating allowed Obama to accept donations from such individuals as Nidal Hassan from ?? and "Adolph Hitler" and "Illegal Contributor."
Is all this finally catching up with The One, whose performance was so bad in last night's debate he has been renamed "O-bomba"?
Apparently an organization is planning an major expose of the illegitimate donations, sometime this weekend, according to the Washington Examiner:

According to the sources, a taxpayer watchdog group conducted a nine-month investigation into presidential and congressional fundraising and has uncovered thousands of cases of credit card solicitations and donations to Obama and Capitol Hill, allegedly from unsecure accounts, and many from overseas. That might be a violation of federal election laws.
The Obama campaign has received hundreds of millions in small dollar donations, many via credit card donations through their website. On Thursday, the campaign announced a record September donor haul of $150 million.
It's probably too much to expect that, once it is revealed what a liar, cheater, scam artist and poseur this guy is, the Obambots will consider at least not voting.

Obomba won't take responsibility for losing first debate

In typical Obama fashion, he's out on the campaign trail now whining that the "real Mitt Romney" wasn't on display last night.
The "real Mitt Romney" is the one Leftists and Obomba have concocted. The one who shows up in the weeping garbageman ads. The one who doesn't care about anyone but himself.
The truth is the same thing we've been seeing since Obama took office.
See, Obama can never admit he's wrong in any way.
He can't admit that Romney did a better job than he.
He can't admit that Romney was right on while Obama looked small and pasty.
  So what's he do?
He and his cohorts like Daily Kos are claiming Romney is a liar. That all he said last night was lies.
Those lies are according to the narrative Leftists have created around Romney
Gore claims the air's too thin and Romney had been in Colorado for a day or two while Obama, who was bored at the prospect of practicing, just flew in on the country's jets.
What's really disturbing is how many people actually watched last night, which explains why Obama and his ilk are scrambling today to mitigate the disaster that was that debate for Obomba, who everyone knows bombed.
Reid is out there lying again about Romney, who has been a tax cheat, an animal abuser, a murderer, and a felon, according to the Chicagoland bunch. This time Reid made up something about immigration, the opposite of what Romney actually said.
The wheels are comin' off the bus and the scramble has begun.
Pastor E.W. Jackson says Blacks are abandoning the Democrat party.
Maher, Carville, Matthews and even Ed Schultz wonder what happened last night.
  Watch in disgust and disbelief:
  Like Romney said.
He has 5 sons; he's using to hearing baloney so let's just cut through the fog here.
Once again, Obama refuses to take responsibility for his actions, his behavior and his policies.
See, it's Romney's fault that Obomba bombed last night.
   Not his.
This makes him look even more pathetic than last night.

And what do remember most about your twentieth anniversary, Mr President?

Up until tonight I would have never described a debate as being inspirational but reflecting upon the ninety minutes of pummeling Mitt Romney delivered to the defenseless Obama that is the only word the comes to mind. The debate was inspirational because Romney, aside from having an astonishing command of facts, spoke to the principles behind the policies he proposed. He was all about freedom and free enterprise and how to nurture those ideals not impede them. When was the last time we heard a candidate mention the tenth amendment? He did Ronald Reagan proud!

Five minutes into the debate I was asking myself, "Who coached this guy? Daniel Webster or Billy the Kid? Not since Perry Mason used to chew up Hamilton Burger on Saturday evenings have I seen such a lopsided battle of wits. Romney scored in two areas; style and substance. He was pleasant, polite, courteous, forceful, and presidential. Obama was proportionally flummoxed and incoherent. The American public saw leadership for the first time since George Bush left office and they will want to see more.

Several commentators said that Obama seemed to quit early in the debate and I agree. He was definitely over matched and he knew. There was no Mussolini like chin in the air bravado. El Duce stood looking downward like a school boy who had just been whipped within an inch of his life.

I was worried about Romney's ability and self confidence prior to the debate. I knew he is more than Obama's intellectual equal but still being able to think quickly, not over playing a point, not misspeaking, well, there was a lot that could go wrong. Possibility Obama felt the same about Romney. I should not have worried but Obama should have. As someone said, he brought a knife to a gun fight.

Tonight's Debate-Wow

  Yowza.
Is Romney doing great or what?
Observations: Both men seem at ease. The shoutout to Michelle grossed me out.
Romney knows his stuff. Obama's on the defensive. Looks irritated. Romney won't be backed down by even the beady eyed Lehrer.
Obama seems squishy to me, though he hasn't launched into his arrogant mode yet. He seems defensive but fairly friendly. Seems to have squelched his ugly face.
  Romney has the facts.
Heh.
Overall, there's no question who won tonight's debate. Romney LOOKS presidential while Obama looks confused and caught.
The only thing I was disappointed in was Romney's failure to address how expensive health care is in Massachusetts, which has been termed the father of Obamacare.
But it was a good debate.
Obama kept his nasty face under control and Romney basically blew him out of the water.
And it's nice that the two families are congregating together on the stage.

The Tea Party will be watching tonight's debate

While the media is breathlessly anticipating tonight's debate, we need to keep in mind a few things about what's happening in the media.
As usual, only liberal progressives have been "chosen" to "moderate" the debate, Jim Lehrer being tonight's.
From Breitbart, we see an expose of Lehrer's previous debate behavior. Most interesting is a comparison of Lehrer's version of a previous debate with reality.
Here's the link. I removed the video because it plays automatically.
Other debate "moderators" include Martha Raddatz, Candy Crowley and Bob Schieffer, all of whom have established their progressive bona fides.
Martha Raddatz, who conveniently forgot to mention all the military Republican voters in a 2008 piece, was married for years to wildly progressive Obama official Jules Genachowski, who's eager to regulate the internet and radio.
CNN's Candy Crowley who claimed that the choice of Paul Ryan was a "political death wish."
Bob "Donald Trump is a racist" Schieffer,
Of course, the person in charge of picking "moderators" is Mike McCurry. Remember him? Bill Clinton's spokesman?
In fact, the nine people on the Commission's board are progressives.
In fact, the "beards" progressives to whom attach themselves to cover their own progressive liberalness include organizations they've formed like Politifact Ohio, which determines what's true and what's not true.
Politifact Ohio is run by extreme leftists who, like Journolist, get to decide "truth" based on their own political leanings. One frequent Politifact Ohio said this (and more over here):
In short, the modern conservative movement’s leaders consist of those who despise working people, those who proudly defend America’s horrible racist legacy, the worst of the religious fanatics, and all those who wish to preserve America as an all-white, fundamentalist Christian patriarchy.
To mitigate the fact that everyone, even some Democrats, has noticed the media bias this time around, a New York Times writer wrote a piece complaining that it all bored him so much, this idea of media left skewed bias.
He's tired of hearing it. "Tired cries of bias don't help Romney" explores why conservatives are freakin' mad about press coverage.
No, in their view, the mysterious drop can only be explained by the fact that the mainstream media have their collective liberal thumb on the scale, in terms of coverage and, more oddly, polling.
Carr goes on to explain that Romney had a couple of bad weeks, including the illegally posted private conversation in which Romney said as a candidate he didn't have to worry about trying to convince the Obamabots and which Leftists have claimed indicate he doesn't "care" about half the population.
Those two weeks Carr is referring to?

  •   An American ambassador was murdered, along with 3 other Americans.
  •   Protection was requested on numerous occasions but denied but the Obama administration.
  •   The Middle East is on fire, with many American embassies under attack.
  •   Obama parties on, begging for money, laughing with movie stars.
  •   The military deaths in Afghanistan surpassed 2000.

Yet Romney had a bad two weeks.
And Mr. Carr seems absolutely ignorant of the absolute collapse of the Obama foreign policy, thus ignorantly proving the point conservatives have been making.
The problem is, Leftwingers, we're onto ya.
What will WE be watching for?
Obama's a narcissistic prick who doesn't like to be challenged.
He loses his mojo when he has no teleprompter, though he's probably already been apprised of tonight's questions, given the political makeup of the "moderators."
Watch for the arrogance to emerge.
Watch for the rise of the voice, the stuttering, the lifted chin as he waits for applause for his latest proclamation.
Yeah, tonight's a drinking game for sure.

They'll do anything to win

So we were told a year ago that Obama and his ilk are ready to do anything to win; Occupy was part of the plan but that disappeared.
Now we're seeing the whole garden of deceptions, cheating, lying and pettifoggery blossom.
Most outrageous is the administration's blatant use of taxpayer dollars to bribe defense contractors to not tell their employees right before the election they're going to be laid off in in January, as required by law, a law passed by those very politicians.
So the politicians pass a law to make sure companies give 2 months notice of layoffs. It's their rule; they considered it so important and essential to workers that they wrote and passed this law, which allows the workers to sue the company if they lay them off without that 60 day notice.
So Obama's people tell the companies the government (ie taxpayer dollars) will pay for the lawsuits which will surely be filed against their companies by defying the law and not informing employees.
Our taxpayer dollars used to pay off Obama bribes so he'll be able to get reelected.
Blatant and immoral hypocrisy. Thus we see that the laws they pass are immaterial; they don't really care about people, their livelihoods, doing what's right or even the economy of the United States with regard to wasteful spending.
They have indeed become the ruling class.
And companies like Lockheed Martin have fallen in line, did what Obama wants.
Then the corrupt media runs a poll about swing state leanings because, if you'll remember, the "big mo" is what's important in a presidential race. That is, where the momentum is heading for politicians. Whoever has momentum will win.
So let's increase the momentum for the guy we want to win.
Washington Post happened to be the perpetrator of this atrocity; by claiming that they had polled swing states, which showed an eleven point lead for Obama, they were trying to establish their guy as a clear frontrunner.
Unfortunately, a look at the internals of the poll revealed that, well, of the approximately 950 voters polled, only about 20 swing state voters per state were actually polled
  DaTechGuy:
This same media is using their national microphone to report as fact an 11 point lead for Barack Obama in swing states based on a twenty voters per state? Pardon my language but ARE YOU FRIGGIN KIDDING ME?
[SNIP]
But I damn well know you can’t judge a lead in swing states based on a sample so small per state that it couldn’t fill the 5th street diner.
  Remember.
You're a fool if you believe the MSM is conspiring against conservatives and Republicans.
In case you weren't convinced yet of this "media malpractice" take a look at this Politico piece, which goes waaaaay into lala land with their theory about wacky Joe Biden:
Women born before the baby boom generation seem to have a collective crush on a handsome vice presidential candidate with piercing blue eyes and a wide smile who likes to talk about government benefits for seniors. No, not Paul Ryan.
Joe Biden’s bringing sexy back — to the Medicare-eligible set — and that could be valuable for a president who trails Republican rival Mitt Romney with women of a certain age despite having a wide advantage with their 18- to 65-year-old counterparts.
Ok, now, who's going to BELIEVE this?
Does this dodo writer actually think that the 60s generation, the hippies, the totally "cool" generation, even women, would FALL for THIS guy?
The gaffe master? The plagiarist? This cheese ball, aka Plugs?
  Joe Biden? Sex symbol?
  Now you've gone too far.

Obama: the phony's phony

  Uh.
I can barely watch The One, who proclaims cockily that he is just a fair debater, as opposed to Romney who's a "good debater."
Ooo, he's downplaying his rhetorical ability, which everyone knows is his strongest political weapon.
We all know what this is.
  He loves himself.
  He loves his crooning.
He loves his passionate teleprompter speaking, staring meaningfully into the camera, his stern blinky-blinky version of the blue steel gaze, drawing in the gullible, sucking them into Obamaworld, where everything's free and easy, where everyone loves each other as long as they're liberal and where there are no meanies who want to make people stop spending money they don't have.
So we've been enduring the hundreds of polls telling us that Romney's a loser and that no one can beat  the unbeatable Obama. Unfortunately the truth came out in a court the other day when a pollster admitted he basically lies to get the results the candidate wants. Politico:
The business I'm in is a business any fool can get into, and a lot can happen. I'm sure there was a poll like that," the folksy Hickman told jurors when first asked about a poll showing the race tied. "I kept up with every poll that was done, including our own, and there may have been a few that showed them a tie, but... that's not really what my analysis is. Campaigns are about trajectory, and... there could have been a point at which it was a tie in the sense that we were coming down, and Obama was going up, and Clinton was going up."
For these weak minded out there, perhaps those rich (and often nasty) movie stars who love Obama will persuade you to vote for the Great One. Maybe you too need to be on meds to support this guy.
For sure, your lady parts need to be on meds to support the poseur who dwells in the White House.
Of course, you're stupid if you vote Romney. The pretty Longoria thinks you are extremist if you vote for Romney. Sheryl Crow says we Tea Partiers are stupid and don't know what we're mad about (demeaning). Toledo's Steinem thinks insults women by saying that you're just following what Republican men want if you vote for them.
So sink lower and lower, Obamabots.
We're all that more determined to get help for you.
So you won't feel sorry for yourselves anymore.
And so you'll learn there's a great deal of freedom in independence from the government.

Romney garbageman ad is garbage

Honestly I've hardly been able to blog the last few days, so disgusted am I with the press, the Obamabots, all of it.
Now comes this commercial from an AFSCME commie featuring a taxpayer paid employee looking mournfully into a camera, complaining that his body will be breaking down by the time he's 55 years old from doing the tremendous work he does.
This taxpayer paid employee visits neighborhoods on a regular basis, including Mitt Romney's, and on some occasions residents of the neighborhood come out to greet him, hand him cool drinks, congratulate him on the job he's doing.
  But not Mitt Romney.
Sad glassy brown eyes that may weep after the camera clicks off, the taxpayer paid employee complains that Mitt Romney doesn't "care" about him or the fact that his back will probably give out lifting garbage for the likes of Mitt Romney.

It appears from this salary schedule that, at 33, Mr. Hayes may make anywhere from $60,000 up to pick up trash in San Diego. Who knows what his job benefits are. Surely if his "back gives out," there'll be a government program available so he can sit around and recover.
Ads like this have been running continuously in Ohio. The frequent complaint is that Mitt Romney doesn't "care" about the little guys, based on some secretly taped meeting Romney held with donors. The whole "caring" thing is a predominant Democrat thing.
That a cheapskate, narcissistic candidate like Obama who has given to charitable causes only when he was in campaign mode could even compare himself to the likes of Mitt Romney is appalling. Romney may not have been my favorite candidate during winnowing season, but his record (though he does not boast of it) of charitable giving, concern about others and magnanimity are unquestioned.
So naturally that's what the Obama campaign seeks to destroy in the public eye.
The Democrats have been taking great pleasure in playing Romney's words out of context, claiming he doesn't "care" about 47% of the people.
Yet what Romney said is not what the commies are saying he said. Here's the transcript of what he said, which is quite different than the excerpted clip we hear taken out of context.

“There are 47% of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47% who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what.
“And I mean the President starts off with 49, 49…he starts off with a huge number. These are people who pay no income tax. 47% of Americans pay no income tax. So our message of low taxes doesn’t connect.
“So he’ll be out there talking about tax cuts for the rich. I mean, that’s what they sell every 4 years. And so my job is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.
“What I have to do is convince the 5% to 10% that are independents, that are thoughtful, that look at voting one way or another depending upon in some cases emotion, whether they like the guy or not.”
Romney says that as a candidate it isn't his "job to worry" about trying to convince those who are hard core dependent on the government Obamabots to vote for him.
Amazing how that's morphed into "Romney doesn't care about the people," isn't it.
This is more "war on women" illogic being foisted off on the mentally weak.
As far as old Richard goes...
Just shut up and do your job without whining.
  You're making me sick.

Video Mocks New School Lunch Menu

Maybe if Michelle Obama and the USDA where half as clever as the students who made this video they could sell these kids on the idea of slow starvation. The one size fits all government solution to most problems is never adequate. Calorie limits based on average daily calorie intake means half of the sample is already exceeding the limit. High school students in Kansas mocked Michelle's dictatorship of the cafeteria in this clever, amusing, and tasteful video.

Benghazi Consulate Bombed Twice Before 9/11

Whistle blowers have approached the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform with information suggesting that security at the Benghazi consulate had greatly deteriorated in the time leading up to the assassinations of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans. There were two explosions at the consulate and increasing threats and attacks on the Libyan nationals hired to provide security at the U.S. missions in Tripoli and Benghazi. There were threats made on FaceBook. The page entry showed the route Stevens took for his morning jog. The Obama administration has said there was no specific intelligence predicting the 9/11 anniversary assault on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi. The same whistle blowers also assert that the consulate petitioned the State Department for more security but its requests were ignored.
The House Committee has sent a letter to Hillary Clinton demanding more information and will reconvene for an investigation later this month. The letter states;
Below is a list of attacks and events compiled by the Committee from the six months prior to the murder of Ambassador Stevens that we understand were a basis for repeated resource requests:
·         April 6, 2012, BENGHAZI – Two Libyans who had been fired from a contractor providing unarmed static security for Consulate Benghazi, threw a small IED over the Consulate fence.  There were no casualties or damage and the suspects were arrested but not prosecuted.
·         April 11, 2012, BENGHAZI – A gun battle between an unidentified armed group and forces loyal to the Transitional National Council (TNC) occurred about 4km from Consulate Benghazi.  The unidentified armed group attacked a Ministry of the Interior building in an attempt to seize a fleet of vehicles that had belonged to the Gaddafi regime.   The gun battle included use of antiaircraft guns and RPGs.
·         April 25, 2012, TRIPOLI – A US Embassy Local Guard Force officer traveling in a diplomatically-plated vehicle was detained and his Embassy-issued radio seized at a militia checkpoint.  He was released without further incident.
·         April 26, 2012, BENGHAZI – While a Foreign Service officer stationed at Consulate Benghazi was attending a trade-related event at the International Medical University, a fistfight escalated to gunfire between security forces for the trade delegation and militia providing security for the University.  A US Foreign Service officer was evacuated by members of the 17th of February Martyrs Brigade, a Libyan militia, stationed at Consulate Benghazi.
·         April 27, 2012, BENGHAZI – Two South African contractors were kidnapped by armed men while walking through a residential area of Benghazi.  After a brief interrogation about their nationality and purpose in Libya, they were released unharmed.
·         May 1, 2012, TRIPOLI – The Deputy Commander of Embassy Tripoli’s Local Guard Force was carjacked, beaten and detained by a group of armed youth.  He escaped by climbing over a fence and notifying the Embassy by phone.  Libyan security forces fought a gun battle with the assailants in order to recover a number of stolen vehicles and release other detainees.
·         May 22, 2012, BENGHAZI – Two RPG rounds were fired at the Benghazi office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), approximately 1 km from Consulate Benghazi.  The attack occurred during the early morning hours and there were no casualties.  A Facebook posting that claimed responsibility for the attack said: “After we confirmed that the ICRC were giving out the Bible to the refugees of Tuwerga in Benghazi, a group of Mujaheddin attacked the HQ of the ICRC with an RPG and it targeted the meeting room inside the building. We didn't want to hurt the Christians it is just a warning, we also didn't want to hurt any Muslims working there. We recorded it on video and will publish it soon – so the ICRC must take down their flag with the red cross and close its offices in Libya. We announce that Libya is an Islamic State. We did not attack the Sahara Bank.  Finally, now we are preparing a message for the Americans for disturbing the skies over Derna.”
·         June 2012 – Ambassador Stevens was in the habit of taking early morning runs around Tripoli along with members of his security detail.  According to sources, sometime in June 2012, a posting on a pro-Gaddafi Facebook page trumpeted these runs and directed a threat against Ambassador Stevens along with a stock photo of him.  It is reported that, after stopping these morning runs for about a week, the Ambassador resumed them.
·         June 6, 2012, BENGHAZI – Under cover of darkness, assailants placed an IED on the north gate of Consulate Benghazi, blowing a hole in the security perimeter that was described by one individual as, “big enough for forty men to go through.”
·         June 10, 2012, BENGHAZI – On or about June 10, 2012, a two-car convoy carrying the British Ambassador to Libya from a conference on reforming Libyan military law was attacked in broad daylight by a militant with an RPG.  This attack was an important escalation in the violence against Western targets in Benghazi, as prior attacks had been at night and were often preceded by warnings from the attackers.  Photos from the aftermath of the attack are attached.
·         Late June 2012, BENGHAZI – The ICRC building was attacked again, this time in broad daylight while people were inside.  Once the ICRC pulled out, the US Consulate was the last Western flag flying in Benghazi, making it an ideal target for militants.
·         August 6, 2012, TRIPOLI – Armed assailants attempted to carjack a vehicle bearing diplomatic plates operated by U.S. security personnel.
·         WEEKS BEFORE September 11, 2012, BENGHAZI – The unarmed Libyan guards employed by British contractor Blue Mountain Group were being warned by their family members to quit their jobs guarding Consulate Benghazi because there were rumors in the community of an impending attack.
You can read the entire letter here and Eli Lake at the Daily Beast has an excellent post on the lamentable conditions that prevailed in Benghazi prior to the fatal attack.

Update:  There will be no FBI investigation of the assassination of Ambassador Chris Stevens. All personnel has been removed from the Benghazi consulate.

“Everybody who was in Benghazi and posted there has been withdrawn,” State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said. She said she knew of no other U.S. government employees in the city to help investigate the attack or perform other work.

Univision's Octobers Surprise Arrived Early

It has been 22 months since the murder of border agent Brian Terry and finally the American public has been given a very graphic view of the logical consequences of putting guns in the hands of drug cartel hit men. Sunday evening Univision dropped a block buster on the Obama Justice Department and may well have changed the outcome of the election. If a picture is worth a thousand word Univision's "Aqui y Ahora" would fill volumes, more than months of congressional hearing and more than the DOJ's inspector general's 459 page report. At considerable risk to their lives the Univision team has produced the biggest investigative journalism feat of the twenty-first century.

I have written some 30 posts on Fast and Furious, gleaning almost all my information from Sharyl Attkisson at CBS, the LA Times, FoxNews, and a pair of gun rights blogs. The mainstream media has ignored this story for almost 2 years. When they did mention it they inevitably referred to it as the botched gun tracking scandal. Finally ABC News has partnered with Univision and its doubtful the remainder of the media can ignore the story any longer. As the video clip below will attest, blood very literally flowed in the streets of Mexico.

On January 30, 2010, a commando of at least 20 hit men parked themselves outside a birthday party of high school and college students in Villas de Salvarcar, Ciudad Juarez. Near midnight, the assassins, later identified as hired guns for the Mexican cartel La Linea, broke into a one-story house and opened fire on a gathering of nearly 60 teenagers. Outside, lookouts gunned down a screaming neighbor and several students who had managed to escape. Fourteen young men and women were killed, and 12 more were wounded before the hit men finally fled.

In another mass murder at a rehabilitation center in Ciudad Juarez 18 young men were killed on September 2, 2009. In another episode caught on film cartel hit men enter a bar and causally execute the patrons.

The investigation also produced an additional 57 weapons that were not known to the congressional committee investigating Fast and Furious and introduced to the mainstream media to operation Castaway a little know operation run out of Tampa and a third operation run out of Texas.
One hopes, but its doubtful, that Obama will get a question on these latest developments. He has exercised the power of executive privilege well beyond any precedent to shield Eric Holder from further congressional investigation. The Inspector General's report was mostly whitewash. Two Americans and hundreds of Mexicans are dead but no one has faced charges. If ever there was a need for a special prosecutor now is the time.

Investigations like this take time so it was underway when Obama appeared at Univision's Candidate' Forum. The reporters gave Obama a chance to concede some fault in this matter be he chose to lie and even blame it on Bush. Bad move!

“I think it’s important for us to understand that the Fast and Furious program was a field-initiated program begun under the previous administration,” the president said. “When Eric Holder found out about it, he discontinued it. We assigned a inspector general to do a thorough report that was just issued, confirming that in fact Eric Holder did not know about this, that he took prompt action and the people who did initiate this were held accountable.”

Yup, he took the bait. Now see if he can wiggle off the hook.

Common People May Not Be Able To Understand Obama

Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki is worried about the upcoming debates. She worries that the great unwashed masses will not be able to grasp the intellectual pearls dropped by the philosopher king. He is just too deep for the average person to understand. “[W]hat the American [people] are looking for is not just a professorial list of facts or accomplishments or even goals,” Psaki said yesterday as part of her ongoing, almost-comical attempt to lower expectations going into the debates. She then lamented that Obama “has a tendency to give longer, substantive answers.”

Yes, I remember struggling to understand him when he was selling Obamacare with the example wherein a child is taken to a hospital emergency room for an asthma attack and gets a breathalyzer. Now there was a longer, substantive answer if I ever heard one. Then he was misunderstood by many when he gave us "You didn't build that."

“He wants to speak directly to the families — the people who are on their couches at home, having snacks, drinking a beer, drinking soda, whatever it is, and tuning in for the first time — and that’s who he’s speaking directly to,” she said.

Where would Obama be without low information voters?

I.6 Million Non Citizens Now On Food Stamps

One of the provision of welfare reform done in 1996 was tight restrictions place on food stamp eligibility for non citizens living in the United States. The the 2002 farm bill reversed this policy, restoring eligibility and making the enrollment of non-citizen immigrants a high priority. Beginning in 2004, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Department of State, and the Mexican government began an ongoing partnership to increase enrollment in food stamps, and other USDA nutrition welfare programs, to eligible Mexican Americans and Mexican nationals living and working in the United States. Today, the USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service website highlights that outreach is provided through 50 Mexican consulates in the U.S.

Is the problem in the White House bigger than we know?

Honestly the Beltway Republicans Hoosierman refers to are barfworthy, appallingly bad commentators (or whatever it is they do for a paycheck) who seem more interested in Beltway party invitations than the destruction of our republic.
Probably I shouldn't waste time on the likes of David Brooks (or Peggy Noonan) but his latest outrage has to be filleted, marinated, basted and charcoal grilled.
Brooks claims Obama deserves a pass on the mess he's made of the world.
Brooks thinks we should just ignore 2000 military deaths in Afghanistan, ignore an undetermined (even by the White House) number of people killed by drones which are, btw, coming here, ignore a frightful economy tottering on porous bones and ignore the divisiveness among races encouraged by the most racist leftwing administration ever to "govern" this nation.
Those deaths and the monstrous murder of 4 Americans in Libya amount to "a pretty bad week."
  Yawn.
It might have cost a few people their lives but Obama had "a pretty bad week."
  The Daily Caller:
“So, Obama, I think his task is reasonably clear — just be calm, stay calm, whatever that British slogan [is that] we’re all repeating now, ‘stay calm and in control,’ whatever it is,” Brooks said. “And so he just has to be calm.  And somebody made a good point today. He had a pretty bad week in the Middle East, or a pretty bad two weeks in the Middle East, but he reacted with calmness. And so he sort of gets a pass on really what is sort of a chaotic administration policy.  Romney is the one with the burden. … He has to say, listen, I haven’t been a great candidate, but if you elect me, there are four organizations I’m going to fix. I am going to fix the tax code.”
So wow. This really makes sense. Romney's the "one with the burden."
Not the one who made the mess, who flew to a fundraiser after the murder of an ambassador.
Brooks is fluttery that Obama "reacted with calmness" to the torture and murder of Americans.
Well, yeah, you might call it "calmness," considering that Obama went to bed apparently unconcerned about the fate of the 4 Americans, waking to the news in the morning that he and 3 others had been murdered, not to mention tortured.
  Uh, HULLO, David Brooks.
We have a problem with this narcissistic cold fish the media is excusing as "calm" and "cerebral."
In fact, even Middle East leaders/politicians are saying that it's a problem that Obama hasn't bothered to establish ANY relationships with ANYone.
The truth is Obama's too self-absorbed to care about what's going on in the world around him.
He can't seem to understand that, just because he declares "Make it so" it doesn't happen.
You know, an interesting story came up on another website yesterday.
Chicago Kevin at Hillbuzz laughs that the tough guys over at Ace are puzzled that Obama golfs so much, considering that he doesn't really seem to be interested in the game itself. Though he brags about his basketball prowess (which is in dispute, from what I hear), Obama doesn't seem actually a fan of the game itself.
Chicago Kevin has an explanation for Obama's behavior which makes sense. It explains the detachment. It explains the disappearance for numerous hours. It explains the odd relationships. It explains the absolute obsession with playing golf so often.
Read it for yourself and decide.
  Here.
If it's true, our leadership problems in this country are a great deal more serious than most people think.
If it's only a rumor, it's pretty pathetic that we're at this state where we can even speculate that such a story makes so much sense and that the pieces fit together so well.
Sure, we've had randy fellows in the White House before, fellows who've abused the office by being so drunk with the power of it that they've taken advantage of young women.
But someone who's uninterested in the welfare of the country?
Someone who pretends to care about retaining office just to boost his ego?
Someone who's so detached that he feels no need to build relationships with anyone other than sycophantic young men?
Someone who disappears for hours, whose wife was so self absorbed/angry/indifferent with her husband that she wasted thousands of taxpayer dollars flying to vacation 4 hours earlier than her husband, which in retrospect sure looks like a marital snit?
  Yeah.
There's a problem here that's a lot bigger than anything normal people can solve.
UPDATE: YOWZA! I mean, YOWZA!

Obama Endorsed by Hugo Chavez Loses in Poll to Ahmadinejad

While facing a tough election of his own Hugo Chavez endorsed Barack Obama. "I hope this doesn't harm Obama, but if I was from the United States, I'd vote for Obama," said Chavez. "Obama is a good guy ... I think that if Obama was from Barlovento or some Caracas neighborhood, he'd vote for Chavez,"
Hell Obama would probably vote for him anyway even if he was born in Hawaii or Kenya or wherever. More.
Obama is so much the international politician that the Iranian Fars News Agency reported he had been beaten by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a Gallup poll taken in rural America. It was an Onion hoax but Fars swallowed it hook, line, and sinker.

CHARLESTON, WV—According to the results of a Gallup poll released Monday, the overwhelming majority of rural white Americans said they would rather vote for Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad than U.S. president Barack Obama. “I like him better,” said West Virginia resident Dale Swiderski, who, along with 77 percent of rural Caucasian voters, confirmed he would much rather go to a baseball game or have a beer with Ahmadinejad, a man who has repeatedly denied the Holocaust and has had numerous political prisoners executed, than spend time with Obama. “He takes national defense seriously, and he’d never let some gay protesters tell him how to run his country like Obama does.” According to the same Gallup poll, 60 percent of rural whites said they at least respected that Ahmadinejad doesn't try to hide the fact that he’s Muslim.

The Beltway Republicans Need to be Belted

Way back when Mitt Romney was slugging it out with Rick Santorum for the Evangelical vote and with Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry for the Tea Party vote Washington elites of both parties fretted that Mitt Romney, while a superior candidate, would head a divided party. Wrong! With the selection of Paul Ryan to be his running mate Romney, showing considerable political acumen, brought the Tea Party home. The evangelical vote soon followed preferring a stable Mormon to the whatever faith Obama is currently following. Last week Ralph Reed of the Faith and Freedom Coalition announced a massive get out the vote drive that will hit 17.1 million voters in 13 states with three phone calls each urging them to vote for Romney.

With the Teavangelical community revved up to warp speed and knowing full well it will win if only it doesn't lose its nerve the same Republican elites who said the Teavangelicals were unreliable have proven themselves to be unreliable. Rush Limbaugh who chided Romney over an early remark on global warming now sings his praises 20 hours each week. Michele Malkin who backed Santorum and is generally regarded as the hardest of the hardliners on the right would walk through hell for Romney. Kevin Dujan at Hillbuzz who used to mock the Romney people and their cucumber sandwich's has written a scathing post denouncing the “Tokyo Roses” in the Republicans’ ranks who demoralize and depress Republican voters.

The David Brooks, the Peggy Noonans, the David Frums and almost the entire WSJ editorial staff now constantly carp about every imagined Romney faux pas. He didn't mention Afghanistan in his acceptance speech, he shot from the hip on his Benghazi comments (actually he spoke about the Egyptian demonstration not the slaying of Ambassador Stevens while Obama was maintaining radio silence before beginning his public deception on the subject.) If these "elites" were not so inconsequential they would be dangerous. One suspects that much of this caterwauling is the result of their not having access to Romney. Many of Romney's confidants come from the business community not Washington. He is not George Bush and for better or worse he will not do as Bush did on many policy points both foreign and domestic. This is not the same country George Bush governed yet to the elites whose only point of reference is Bush, Romney is a clumsy, gaff prone and ineffective candidate. With friends like these....

Turning from the talkers to the doers, this blog identified two senators, two governors and seven congressmen, all Democrats who were afraid to attend their party's convention lest they be damaged by the association with Obama and the national Democratic Party. We don't see this on the Republican side. No Republican office seeker has run from an association with Mitt Romney be they RINO, Tea Party, Catholic, Mormon, Evangelical, Jew, black, white, or Hispanic. The inept and gaff prone Romney has put together a very solid party while the wunderkind Obama presides over an amalgam of jealous and contentious coalitions many of whom are afraid to be seen with him. In spite of the Beltway bunch Romney will prevail.

Maine's Merry Go Round

There is an interesting race shaping up in Maine. In the race to replace retiring Senator Olympia Snowe the favorite is a two time governor, Angus King who, running as an independent, has a dependency problem on a $407,000 "success fee" he received in 2011 from a wind energy project that remains in business today only because it received a $102 million federal loan he played a major role in securing. King served as governor from 1996 to 2004. He has never said as much but if elected he is expected to caucus with the Democrats and for this reason the Democratic Party will not endorse its putative candidate, Cynthia Dill.

Having two entries in a three horse race can be difficult to manage as the Democrats have now realized. In August when King held a commanding 28 point lead over the Republican candidate, Charlie Summers life was simple. Life was good. The Democrats stood to win a senate seat, literally by doing nothing. Summer has come and gone and so has King's commanding lead. Polling shows the gap to be in the 8% to 12% range, hardly comfortable in a state that in 2010 elected a Republican governor and a Republican controlled legislature.

Dill, with no party support has never polled even 15% but suddenly the DSCC has figured it could have been too clever. The Republican Party is full square behind Summers and King, without party support is beginning to fade going into the stretch. Maine Democratic Party chairman Ben Grant in an opinion piece in the Portland Press Herald questioned whether or not King would caucus with either party. Now the DSCC has poured $410,000 into Dill's pocket still without endorsing her. Said NRSC executive director Rob Jesmer;“It’s remarkable to see national Democrats now spending money in a state where they refuse to even endorse their own nominee. Now that they are spending almost a half-million dollars in Maine, the DSCC should make clear who they are supporting — the Democratic nominee or the candidate that the State Democratic Party Chairman said today cannot be trusted.”
