White Gun, The Fast and Furious Sequel?

Here we go again. Saddle up, Sharyl Attkisson, the Obama administration is going to get you a Pulitzer yet. As a blogger I suppose I should be grateful to Obama. There is always a scandal to write about. We has Fast and Furious, Solyndra, LightSquared, and White Gun. White Gun? What the hell is White Gun. It's still sketchy but what is known it that ATF supervisor Hope
MacAllister who figured in the Fast and Furious operation went to Mexico and wanted access to police and military vaults for American weapons recovered by Mexican authorities in raids and at crime scenes. She especially was interested in firearms from another ATF investigation, code-named White Gun, that she was running. MacAllister's supervisor was David Voth who reported to William Newell so this is the basic cast of Fast and Furious excluding the whistle blowers.

Guzman Patino was something of a supply officer for the Sinaloa cartel who expressed an interest in acquiring some heavy weaponry. He was shown a Bushmaster rifle and a Ramo .50 heavy machine gun. The undercover agent said he could get that kind of firepower for the Sinaloans. Then the investigation ends. Why? The ATF lost interest? They couldn't sell the movie rights? Then US attorney Dennis Burke who later resigned over Fast and Furious, called the White Gun convictions "a tremendous team effort that put a stop to a well-financed criminal conspiracy to acquire massive destructive firepower." What happened in this tremendous team effort was three low level operators were busted when they tried to trade 11 pounds of crystal meth for guns. They pled guilty to drug charges.

"Apparently guns got away again," said one source close to the investigation, led by Rep. Darrell Issa and Sen. Charles E. Grassley . "How many got into Mexico, who knows?"

The lead story for this post can be found here. Opinion and commentary probably more insightful than my own can be found here.
