We've bandied about various candidates on this blog: Hoosierman thinks Ron Paul is someone who should be heard. I do, too; I just can't stand to actually listen to his voice. Plus the local radio hosts around here are so in the talk for Ron Paul that you can hardly stand to listen to them. I turn them off, in fact. They sound like Paulbots, who seem to lose any individuality and brains when they sign on to the Paul Bus.
But Governor Perry has probably been the biggest disappointment. Hoosierman noted that the Governor had back surgery in July which may reflect his sub-par performance in some situations.
But that's a while ago.
I've held out hope for a while that the man of force who leads the most successful state in the country would emerge at some point.
What's been happening is the opposite of that.
Rick Perry's denunciation of Romney's capitalist ventures is ridiculous. It smears him off the chart of possibilities for Republican nominee.
At least Newt has sort of backed off his vitriol regarding capitalism, but Perry has tried to justify his "vulture" comments, which is inexcusable.
What's so hard about being truthful in politics? What's so hard about saying, "Hey, I jumped the gun. I made a mistake. What I said was unfair. I took it out of context."
Governor Perry is adopting the language and attitude of the Left: is he trying to appeal to Occupiers?
Because if he is, he's forsaken his free market principles. They don't want fairness. They want to take from the productive to give to the unproductive, something that would utterly destroy any reason to actually work in this country.
So you haven't much time, Governor Perry. The light that was belief in you is flickering and almost snuffed.
We're off to tepid support for Mitt.
At least he is willing to admit that corporations make money for PEOPLE, that not all businesses SHOULD survive and that it's okay to fire slugs.
How about you, Governor?
Very blunt! Well put. I like the tone
